My loved one said he likes the food, he is always complaining that there is nothing to do though. I wish they would take the initiative to do more things with the residents. I realize that there are residents in there that do not have their faculties about them, but many do and it doesn't seem like they provide much at all for activities or keeping them engaged and busy. I can only speak to what he tells me and the times I have visited. They had music once or twice but he just seems to be roaming the halls most of the time. Not to sound negative but I think if staff were more involved it would keep "wandering" residents out of other people's rooms. My uncle has had people actually in his bed on 3 or 4 occasions. They tell him to just tell them to leave but I think it happens due to lack of paying attention by the staff and shouldn't be happening.

Isle at Raider Ranch was beautiful. They have such a long waiting list to get into assisted living, that it is recommended to go into independent living first so that you are kind of moved to the top of the list when there is an opening in assisted living. For us, they had a lot of opportunities in terms of activities. They had a pool table, dances, live music, and happy hours. Vanessa assisted us with the tour, and she was awesome. All the people there were incredible. They were so nice, helpful, and eager to give you any information that you need. In all honesty, all the residents were walking around with a smile on their faces and they seemed very happy. They also do have a lifestyle option that you can sign up for where you get three meals a day, you can have people come in upon your request to empty the dishwasher, make your bed every day, or fold laundry. If you don't feel like going to the dining room that day, they will bring your food to you. It's kind of in between assisted living and independent living.

Lubbock has lots of great facilities, but we felt that this facility was the best fit for our loved one. There's so many activities. Our loved one is doing something all the time. She loves it! It's brought her back to life!

I did a tour of the Isle at Raider Ranch. Their staff members were professional and kind. They treated us to lunch and gave us a parting gift, a gift bag. It was fun and the food is good. We toured a one-bedroom that had a southern-facing balcony overlooking a koi pond. It's a beautiful facility. They have a very festive dining area. We ate in the main building. There are two dining areas. There were a lot of people sitting together, socializing, and Christmas music. It was very pleasant. The dining area is set up restaurant style. There were choices on the menu. The grounds are well laid out. It's a large campus, but things are fairly easy to access. Folks were doing Christmas-type activities. We saw a very active schedule of activities. In terms of exercise, they had a full schedule. There was an exercise room and an activities room. There were indoor and outdoor pools, a hot tub, koi ponds, and a dog park.
