I loved Innisfree Retirement Community when I walked in. They have remodeled it, so it is open and light. Before the manager came out, one lady started talking to me, and we were chatting like I lived there. The dining room is open and pretty. The meals are set up so that they have a rotation every six weeks, which I thought was pretty cool because you don't have the same food all the time. They also have an all-day fresh salad bar that is open at any time. They also have a nursing home, a rehab facility, and independent living. They're on the same little campus. They're still finishing renovating on the second floor, but the rooms were great. They have their own kitchen. They provide the microwave and refrigerator. The sink has a cutout underneath, so it's wheelchair accessible. Everything is included, except for the electricity. It's very affordable, but it's a beautiful area. They have pretty gardens and a swimming pool. If you bring your loved ones there, the kids can swim. They have a vegetable garden with boxes that you can work in. They have huge, shady oaks out there where you can sit. They have very pretty, cozy, and covered porches. They had flower beds too, which you can work in. They have a hair salon, a music room, and a library. They had an activity room where we saw everybody playing bingo. The guy running it is hands-on. He knows everyone. Everybody knew him and talked to him. For their all-inclusive package, you're getting not just one time a week where they help you shower, but they're also doing laundry two or three times a week for you.

I liked the amenities at Innisfree Retirement Community. They had linen tablecloths on the tables. It was very nice. They had a nice pool and a very nice library. The residents that we bumped into and spoke to seemed to be very happy there and they have a good amount of activities. They have a happy hour twice a week where they serve alcohol and that appealed to me. It was good that you could go from independent to assisted living if you needed to. They would put you on the top of the list if they had waiting lists for assisted living since you're already a resident there. They have a nurse onsite and transportation to doctors if someone needs help with getting to their doctor. They do housekeeping every week and they will do laundry and help with medicines if necessary. So, I think they had a full range of services and looked like they had very competent staff. It was a very adequate facility. The person that did the tour was very helpful and certainly very much in charge. He knew what he was talking about. He had been there for a while and certainly understood the process, understood residents, and understood what people's needs might be. The facility was clean, but it was kind of tired. It needed to be remodeled and rehabbed and they're in the process of doing the entire facility and redoing the rooms and the halls and trying to bring it up to speed.

We went on a tour of Innisfree Retirement Community. I wasn't able to speak directly with the director, but everybody that helped me was very, very helpful. The layout was beautiful but they did not have an opening at the time. I think we would have gone there if we could have gotten my parents right in. Their dining room was lovely and they had great activities. They had a nice outdoor pool, and very pretty grounds, the place was very pretty. One thing about Concordia is its way out there so for people who don't drive, they have great facilities driving them in. My parents still drive and it was a little bit further out. They had a 2-bedroom that we were looking for but there's none available at the time.

I had an in-person tour of the Innisfree Retirement Community. The young man who showed us around was extremely welcoming, friendly, and very open to letting us see what the facility was about. We talked about my mom's level of care, and he realized that she was not able to walk on her own, so he suggested that we visit the Innisfree skilled nursing area. The tour was very friendly and welcoming. The place seemed very nice, so it was something that we considered until we found out that it wasn't her level of care. They had apartments. They were like one large room, which had your living room, kitchen, and an area for your bed. The kitchen was separated by a kitchen bar where you could put some bar stools and things. They had a nice little bathroom that was handicap accessible. My older sister, who was with me, is handicapped and doesn't get around very well. While we were waiting to get her loaded, two people came running out to help her and make sure she was okay. So I know people were paying attention. The facility was logically laid out and kind of like a little apartment building, but they had a nursing station.

We are choosing Innisfree Retirement Community for ourselves. We are moving in as soon as they call us. I loved the director in that place. He was fantastic. I am very happy with everything that they're doing. All the other people I spoke with at this place were nice. I spoke with some of the residents, and everything was great. The staff that took us around was fun. He was nice, and he understood my crazy sense of humor. He was informative, and he was well-liked by the residents. I liked it because I can have my little tiny yard and design it any way I like. I can plant flowers which I love to do. I can have a lot of plants and put a little fence in. As far as amenities are concerned, it's all good. The price was also fantastic for a 2-bedroom apartment, and we're happy with that. The outdoors were maintained nicely, and they were pretty. It was an older facility, but it was maintained really well. If you need assisted living, they move you to the main building and then they take care of you there. They have a little area where the dogs can go play together, and they are allowing me to bring my dogs. They have a garden area where you can sit with the other residents. They have different activities inside. They have a very nice dining area, a beauty salon, and a chapel. I didn't see anything that I was not happy with. They served us lunch after we were done with the tour. It was a little light, but it was great. The soup they served was fantastic, I liked it. There was also a salad bar there. So, we could have eaten as much as we wanted. I was also impressed with the tablecloth on the dining table. The plates were really clean and we had cloth napkins.
