My mother''s experience was horrific. First day, the manager told me mom would be there the rest of her life. She needed to get on Medicaid. She looked up my mother''s house appraisal (did not request)and said Medicare would end in 20 days (LIAR), Medicaid would cover all her expenses...also take all her assets plus 5 years back. Mom was there for rehab only--fell 3xs, because no one was around to help her off the toilet, even though it was specifically mentioned in her medical records not to leave her. I had witnessed this. Took 45 min. for someone to show up. (NEGLECT) Her doctor, after looking at her wound said she should have had stitches a long time ago, as the wound was not taken care of properly...I was told she was fine. Her room was filthy. Items were stolen and drawers ransacked. Her diaper was so big, it would fall off her if she stood up. She was charged for a private room, but shared the room with another resident. Never did get money back. Was taken at dinner time for therapy numerous times --didn''t get to eat.(NEGLECT) Her medication was taken and never returned. (THEFT) She was molested 3 times at this facility by a staff member.(ABUSE) Who knows how many other residents were molested. One heart doctor appt was cancelled the day of the appointment (while we were waiting for the van), which was made 30 days in advance. The Van used for appointments was filthy at all times, rickety and a loud buzzer (like when door is left open) never stopped unless the van came to a complete stop. The visiting nurse from Carle prescribed a medication, not ever mentioned to me, which was detrimental to her health and recovery. Initially, staff was pleasant. Later, mom kept saying they were mean and she didn''t do anything. Mom had a hard time breathing. A nurse sat 8 feet from her. I had to demand an ambulance, but was told it would have to be cleared by a doctor first. Next day in the hospital, mom is unresponsive. I was told she had the worst UTI infection they had ever seen & she would probably not live. Thankfully 2 days later she woke up. I went to the manager, she got a nurse who said she just was tested for UTI infection-all was OK. (NEGLECT/ABUSE/LIARS) There is so much more to tell... I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy. I GIVE NO STARS, but this will not post unless I give at least one star-- NOT honest, caring people.
