Home Instead is an incredibly professional, efficient and caring company that caters to the needs of its clients.I had an great experience from the beginning, phone calls were promptly returned, Jenifer explained services, and made sure the home care givers AND my elderly uncle had what they needed and were comfortable and happy with the care. We had two great caregivers, Lakeisha and Yalonda that were prompt, professional and kind while providing personal hygiene, light housework, meal preparation and lively conversation. My Uncle always said He had a good day with them and looked forward to their next shift with him. I highly recommend Home Instead and Lakeisha and Yalonda!

In Stead provides an incredibly valuable service which made it possible for me to undergo a procedure at Cleveland Clinic requiring anesthesia. Procedures requiring anesthesia require a person providing support be present. I do not live in Ohio and didn't want to impact those closest to me with a flight to Cleveland, time off from work, family obligations, etc. My physician recommended In Stead. At first, I was reluctant, but the support In Stead provided was invaluable. Don't put off caring for your health and well-being. In Stead has your back! From the moment I met Clifton (who was amazing), I knew I would receive any and all support necessary. I took control of my health care and was introduced to an invaluable partner in my health care.

Home instead has been good to work with from the time of our initial contact. Their intake process was thorough and efficient. We have been clients for two months and over that period they have worked to develop a consistent team of aide caregivers for us. Communication with the organization has been unusually good and easy. Caregivers have been reliable and on time, and the one time a caregiver had to call off sick at the last minute (on a holiday weekend, no less), they promptly notified us and were able to get a substitute to fill in within 3-4 hours. I thought that was impressive. Family members and other caregivers have uniformly found the provided caregivers to be easy to work with and pleasant. When one caregiver did not seem to be a good match, representatives were easy to contact and gave good follow up (that caregiver did not become part of our eventual “team”). All in all, I have no complaints. I find them very easy to work with.

It’s been two years, more or less (at 91years, time gets fuzzy) since I began using Hone Instead services, after an equal number of extremely frustrating years with other companies. Working with such reliable staff and caregivers has been an immense relief. As I no longer drive, some of my needs have been for transportation to medical appointments and so on, but the bulk of them are for care in my apartment: laundry, cleaning, plant-watering, pill box-filling, computer help, etc. Most important, for me at least, is to be comfortable with the person who’s helping me - which I have been with my Home Instead aides - most especially, with my current care-giver, Denise. She’s a great problem-solver and unusually self-motivated; eg: when she’s doing routine tasks, if she notices something out of the ordinary that needs doing, little or big, she just pitches in, on her own. And she’s able to remind me to take my pills or do other necessary tasks in a fashion that’s matter-of-fact, rather than infantilizing or annoying (as has occurred with other caregivers, in the past). In addition, she has a quirky skepticism about life, which I appreciate, and which gives us spirited times together, laughing ruefully at the world around us, particularly, at ourselves. Bottom line: I look forward to her arrival each day she’s scheduled to come, and feel ever-so-lucky to have her in my life, helping me cope with my every-day practicalities and challenges.
