Highland Place in Inverness, FL is a safe, clean, friendly and reliable Senior Care facility that you can feel wonderful about if you are looking for a place for your loved one to live. The Director, Staff and Maintenance staff do a wonderful job.
I toured Highland Place. It was very nice. It was beautiful like a five-star hotel, but my stepdaughter did not qualify there because they did not take her Medicaid or Medicare, so it was out. I toured Highland Place. It was very nice. It was beautiful like a five-star hotel, but my stepdaughter did not qualify there because they did not take her Medicaid or Medicare, so it was out. The lady that gave us the tour was very nice and helpful. I told her what I needed, and she told me that it would have worked out for my stepdaughter. The staff was nice to me. It was a three-story. Sometimes the elevator works, but sometimes it doesn't. I understand that there was a great turnover there. There were staff members there that I had seen, and there were people sitting around and everything. It was a beautiful place, but I guess the care is not what it should be, and my stepdaughter didn't qualify, so I didn't pursue it any further. I saw the room; it was a very nice room. I saw the dining area. Outside was very clean, very efficient, and very beautiful. When you drove up, it looked like it was a five-star hotel. I saw the way it was. The floors were clean. The dining area was pleasant looking, tablecloths and stuff on the tables, neat settings on the table. The hallways and stuff were not cluttered. The room they took us into to show us around was very nice. There's a nice bed, a nice chair, furniture, a nice bay window, curtains, a chest of drawers, and a closet. There's a private bathroom with a private shower. It's clean, nice carpet on the floors. The director very nice and very informative. It was all very pleasant.

Highland Place was very nice, but they don't take Medicare or Medicaid and we're gonna need that. It's a beautiful community and it's very clean. The residents I saw seemed happy. The rooms were wonderful. They even had a refrigerator in them. The only thing was the cost of it and what my husband has for income and since they wouldn't take Medicare, it put us just a little bit below what we needed to get into the community. That was disappointing because I liked it. The girl that did the tour with me was very helpful, and she gave me some other options here in Inverness that do accept Medicaid and Medicare, so that was helpful. I was very impressed with the whole thing. I saw a menu and somebody else had a parent there a while back and they said the food was really good. They do the heavier meal at lunchtime and the lighter meal in the evening for the older people which I thought was very considerate, but I didn't have an opportunity to try the food. The outdoor was nice. The third room they showed me was on the third floor and it had a nice view. There were some trees. There were some outdoor places for people to sit. They had a very nice living room area downstairs where you could sit with your loved ones and visit. The bathroom was very nice. It had one of those heat lamps that they could turn on after their shower and everything was set up for disability. They had a built-in seat area and bars. I was very pleased with it. It was just a little bit out of our price range. The girl was very helpful and very informative and even after she found out that we weren't probably gonna be able to swing that, she was very nice and very pleasant. Everything was very clean and looked very orderly. The rooms were set up very nicely. I was just very impressed with it. I thought it was a very nice facility.

Highland Place was like a hotel. It was on a major road, and it was like living in a hotel. My mom didn't like that. It was on a busy road and the grounds were just basically a parking lot. It didn't seem to have a lot of amenities and there was no pool. It was fine because it's newer in terms of the facility itself, but there wasn't much to the grounds. There weren't pretty gardens where you could go outside and take a nice walk. It was like being at a hotel with a parking lot. My mom does not need assisted living, so that's why we didn't stay very long. This was our first trip out, and so she was not having it. It's easy to get to, and so if you had a relative that you needed to go visit and stick them somewhere, I just think it'd be depressing for the person that had to be there because there isn't anywhere to go. The other places were like resorts, and you could go sit by the pool or they had patios and grounds, and they just didn't have anywhere you could go. There were some communal spaces where you could watch TV and stuff, but the grounds were not inviting. The staff was helpful, and they called and followed up. It's newer, so it was clean. I like the convenience of it because, for my parents, the location was good, although it's on a very busy road.

It's close to her house. If a family wants, they can stay in her house and visit her. She loved the food. She's been there for lunch a couple of times, and the food has been fabulous. The cleanliness is fabulous. Every room I saw this nice and spotless. They have a TV and movies.
