First of all, I used to work here. By absolutely no means, send your family member here. If you love them, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. The amount of staff burn out is atrocious which puts family members at risk of receiving inadequate care. There is no way that everyone can get changed every 2 hrs (as they deserve and have a right to) when you have CNA''s calling out consistently (yet they still have a job?). There is a legal limit of patients to CNA''s for a reason, and this facility does everything in their power to save money, and NOT hire on extra people to ensure that law is met. They refuse to hire on Agency because it "costs to much". Okay, but the amount of wound care that has to be utilized for bed sores doesn''t cost money? 28 patients to 1 CNA is a dangerous assignment to take on. You would think they would happily hire on people to temporarily fill in to guarantee that everyone gets changed would take priority. But it''s not. That''s "not in the budget". Yet, they somehow have plenty of money to buy new toilet paper holders and build a new facility in Covington. $6,000+/month for some residents to live there, and they get served po-boy bread with deli meat (for dinner) and on taco night they serve these residents (who most don''t even have real teeth) these stale taco shells. The biggest problem in my opinion, is taking an abusive CNA (that has not one, but TWO allegations of abuse against her, as well as aggressive run-in''s with other staff) and then STICKING HER in the special care unit (that is dementia patients only) is insane to me. Taking the CNA that reported her, out of the unit, who knows the family and residents incredibly well, and placing her on a hall with 28 patients ALONE seems like retaliation for reporting it. You placed an aggressive CNA in an area where the patients are most vulnerable and can''t report abuse. Covering it up. When the CNA that initially reported abuse expressed concern over this schedule shift to the facility administrator Ms. Melancon, she was told, "your concerns are noted, but we will not restrict Ms. {other CNA} on where she can go. She will go where there is a need and if it''s in the unit then she will go there." Ok ma''am. If you think it''s in the RESIDENTS BEST INTEREST, then by all means, go for it. But when you have more families putting cameras in their loved ones rooms (which is not a terrible idea), because THEY DON''T TRUST THE CARE THEY ARE RECEIVING, it should not be shocking. P.s. I have screenshots of everything, police reports, and recordings to confirm what I''m saying. So please do not try to say that it''s a lie. That''s a waste of time. Thank you. Oh, also, I''m attaching a picture of the facility administrator''s review of his own facility here as well which sounds like he picked the facility out by way of researching it.... As if he doesn''t have an active part in running the place which is incredibly cheesy sir.... Please guys. Save yourself the worry and frustration, and do not send your people here. If you work here, prepare yourself to be targeted, to lack supplies to care for your patients, and also to be dealt with extremely unprofessionally by higher-ups and watch the turnover of coworkers.

I had the pleasure of visiting my grandmother at this charming nursing home today. I was very impressed with their attention to detail concerning infection control & impressed that there were no residents in the entire facility with Covid. When I walked into my grandmother’s room there was an aide with her. I could hear them talking as I approached. Such patience, compassion and care cane from this lovely young lady towards my grandma. I left impressed with the staff and happy with my family’s choice of Heritage Manor Mandeville. Keep doing The Lord’s work!!

I wanted to give this place more stars. At first, I thought it was great. The nurses were friendly and did their best to make my grandmother comfortable despite the awfulness of covid and the pandemic. However my grandmother didn’t even last 3 months. She fell and hit her head and never got the treatment she needed. We were lied to by the doctor and staff. They told us she had been “checked out” with a cat scan and was fine. Medical records show she was never sent anywhere for a cat scan. She developed a massive brain bleed and died a few weeks later. She also caught covid in the home right before being sent to the hospital. I wish there was accountability in this world but there is not. I miss her every moment of every day.
