Do not send your loved ones to the grand in Utica the most of the staff are rude and barely do their jobs how their supposed to they''d rather be on their phones or their computers than taking care of the residents. My mother is there for rehab and they accused her of being able to walk on her own which is nearly impossible to do right away after being sedated in the hospital for over a month. My mother presses the call button and it takes them 20 minutes sometimes longer just to come to my mother they refused to help her when she told them she had to use the bathroom they basically left her to soak in her urine and feces instead of helping her get to the bathroom. My mother does not have any strength to stand on her own because she was in the hospital for over a month sedated and bed ridden on a ventilator for most of the time she was on life support while in the hospital

The food is so bad at lunch and dinner. Sometimes it seems all they know how to cook is plain pasta, bland small potatoes and fatty chicken that''s gray. They once served a white fillet of fish sandwich for dinner. They defrosted the fish and put it on the buns and sent it up to the residents. They spend more money on throwing the food away than they would if the food was good, which it''s not. Breakfast is the only meal which is tolerable and that''s because I cover the scrambled eggs in ketchup. The aides spend more time with their phones than the residents and if you ask them something they look bothered. The nurse is great. The burgers are greasy and taste bad, every sandwich tastes bad. I have an onion allergy and the pasta sauce they use is filled with onions. Most days lunch and dinner go back to the kitchen and hopefully is thrown out to the trash. The only alternative item they have on the menu that I can eat is the grilled cheese and you can only eat those so many times. Hell, my friend has repeatedly kicking her neighbor from her room because he keeps trying to get into her bed and trying to mount her. The staff says he doesn''t know what''s he''s doing but if that is the case then why does he take off his pants and diaper before getting into her bed while she''s sleeping ?
Read moreExcellent rehab facility. Top notch, caring professional nurses and aides. Don’t be deterred by the negative reviews; they’re just trouble-making Karen-types who never lift a finger to help, just complain!
Next time I''ll take my loved one to the Vet ..He would have had way better care.
Worse place to rehab food is horrible not fit for a dog. Was here three weeks never saw a dr or nurse practitioner .only thing good is the staff
