Health Center At Sinai Residences

My family loves the rehabilitation center at Sinai! The space is so beautiful and clean. The staff is attentive and helpful. When it comes time to finding a rehab center for my grandmothers after a hospital stay, there’s no other place we want them to heal and get better. Highly recommend!

My father is placed in this rehab facility in the skilled nursing section as of 2/12/24 due to a hip replacement surgery. This facility is incredibly understaffed and the staff that is available is incompetent and cruel. The certified nursing assistants do not speak English. Therefore it is nearly impossible to communicate with them. The certified nursing assistants will literally roll their eyes when you ask them for help. Additionally, they handled my father very roughly. They would pull at the leg he had surgery on to get him out of bed or tug at his catheter. Getting him out of bed or his chair was done in a very sloppy and careless manner. When he would have his clothes changed the certified nursing assistants would be rough with him to the point where he had to say “I just had surgery please be careful.” The certified nursing assistants would tell me in their broken English that I can be the one to lift him out of bed, or when my dad wanted to stand with his walker in order to alleviate the pain from his hip that was operated on the certified nursing assistants would yell at him that he cannot stand with his walker. Mind you the orthopedic surgeon and nurses at the hospital specifically said that as a patient who recently had hip surgery he needs to stand every hour or so with a walker and not be sedentary. The nurses forget to give his medication. He is on Flomax and the nurses did not give him his Flomax on February 17 2024 in the morning. My father’s call button has not been working since he arrived at the facility. He arrived on February 12 2024 and it is now February 17 2024. I have to literally walk down the halls and look for nurses or certified nursing assistants. When the nurses or certified nursing assistants are notified that my father needs help standing, walking, going to the bathroom or taking medication it literally takes an hour for someone to respond. Moreover, the physical therapy is literally 20 minutes a day which is not much at all. I requested that he also have functional therapy which never started even though I was told it would. Additionally, his bed must always be locked. The certified nursing assistant did not lock his bed. When my father got up from his bed the bed moved back and he almost fell. Please do yourself and your loved ones a favor and do not send your family here. You will be doing all the work and worried for their safety and well-being. The standard of care is below. The staff is good at covering up the problems and they ignore your complaints or concerns. No one ever answers the phone either. No one replies to emails. The only positive thing I have to say is one of the nurse’s here who is working tonight is good but she is literally the only one who cares. Please seek another facility or get home healthcare.
