Harmony at Avon is such a great community the nursing staff is very friendly and whenever I needing something they would respond very quickly. Also their food is really good. They really do care for their residents!
One star is a stretch. When the facility first opened there was a management team in place that cared. The first year was great. Then Lorena became the administrator and it went down hill fast. One star is a stretch. When the facility first opened there was a management team in place that cared. The first year was great. Then Lorena became the administrator and it went down hill fast. Unreturned calls about care, staff only paying attention to cell phones, etc. Our loved one was in the memory care unit and that staff was. It trained to care for memory loss patients. Many of them wonder. One evening our loved one was lost, confused, and wondered into the wrong room and ended up at the hospital by ambulance. Another resident was startled and beat her up with a cane. The management team tried to ignore us when we went with concerns about no one Eve. Noticing her out and about. When they finally did meet with us it was just excuses! Come to find out they had falsified documentation about care meetings that had with the family that never occurred. It is a beautiful place but when you have leadership that doesn’t care or hold other staff accountable… it makes it an horrible place.

The community is beautiful and always looks inviting. Amazing food. The staff are always willing to help and very caring and compassionate. The leadership team will do whatever it takes to enrich the happiness of their residents.

My father-in-law entered the memory care unit on a Wednesday and the following Monday he was admitted to the hospital with multiple injuries (brain bleeds, bruising, cuts, etc). He passed away on the following Saturday. This facility is under staffed for the type of care required for people with dementia. The State of Indiana does not regulate the number of caregivers per residence. Check out other complaints on the Indiana Department of Health Web Site.
