I wrote a great review 1 year ago when my husband first moved to Memory Care in this facility. Over the past year things have changed drastically. The direct care staff are not well trained, there has been a lot of staff turnover with direct caregivers, nurses, and top management leading me to believe there are issues at the corporate level. Many of the direct care staff do not understand or speak English well so they can’t understand how to meet the needs of individuals with dementia. There have been times when only 1 or 2 staff are on duty to care for 41 residents. Nursing staff is very minimal and overworked. The are times there is just 1 nurse available for the entire Memory Care and Assisted Living residents. There is a new Executive Director who is trying to make improvements but it’s a huge uphill battle and doesn’t appear corporate is helpful in providing financial or Human Resources to make the needed improvements. If you are looking for a Memory Care setting in Sarasota wait until the end of 2024 to visit and see what it’s like. This facility WAS a wonderful place and could be again but avoid it for the time being

My mother in-law has been there 2 years. The food is disappointing. We keep hoping for improvement but it just doesn''t improve. Otherwise is seems to be a decent place to live.

The room size is perfect for what she needs. The staff are always so nice and willing to help. The food is delicious and there is always something for her to do. The facility is clean and well kept. I would recommend to anyone looking for a facility in the Sarasota area to go there.

As a widow living alone in a large split-level house for several years, my Mother became aware she could no longer maintain herself and we began the search for an adult living community. We chose the HarborChase for its proximity to all needed facilities, plus it was centrally located for her family to visit. We were amazed how well she has adjusted to her new life when she moved in. Even now, at 93, she has never been in better health or better spirits. She enjoys her daily activities and all the new friends she has made. Her great grand children thinks she lives in a palace and they are not far wrong. HarborChase is clean, accommodating and thoroughly dedicated to the welfare of their patrons. Best of all, we know Mom is still independent while under excellent care.
