My mom is in here for rehab. She has pancreatic cancer and has regressed to not being able to walk. The staff is mixed on how they treat you. Some are nice some are not and it''s always a mixed bag on who you get. Unfortunately this is our only option at the moment. We are trying to get her out of here. She has developed a rash, doesn''t get her meds on time, is handled roughly and is not listened to because the staff is entitled. It takes two nurses to change her gently, one can do it but they''re rough and not gentle. She is in a lot of pain. The nurse this evening was mad that we even asked her to go get help because she felt like we were attacking her ability to do things on her own? Ridiculous. People who work here need to be checked out before being allowed to work with the vulnerable. It''s disgusting to see how the elderly and the helpless are treated by most of the people caring for them. I can understand the staffing issue and I do sympathize with that, but when it is your job to care for others and you are rude and uncaring and harsh, you need another line of work. On another note, the facility is infested with bugs, was recently in the news for causing patients to stay in dirty diapers for days, and is just overall unclean. If there was a bowl full of skittles and five are poisonous, would you still take your chances? It''s not worth it.

A place you need for rehab and for your love ones that need total care
Great nursing home/skilled home. I can''t wait to work there one day if I ever get back to lake Wales.

I wouldn''t put my parents in this place. They deliberately lose your laundry . The housekeeping staff won''t put toilet tissue or paper towels in their bathrooms if and when they even clean the bathrooms. The food service is going to kill someone with their laissez-faire attitude toward diets. People get sick because the dietitian refuses to make menus consistent with people''s medically necessary diets and the kitchen manager doesn''t care. The nursing staff has been known to not give each person their meds and they have been known to give incorrect medication. The administrator is more concerned about what they are spending money on then the proper care of the residents and it''s a non-profit organization. So cost should not be as big a concern.
