High turnover and maybe half of the staff engages residents. We have locked horns with management several times, but have managed to make it work. Frequent visitation is best since there are little to no activities despite being advertised.
There is no RN on site. Staff is not educated properly for Dementia/ Alzheimers residents. They quickly find fault in your family member for simple things but never corrects staff. Based off of our experience, I would not recommend Grace Manor at Lake Morton.

They were playing cards one day I was there, they had a dance party one other day I was visiting. The staff very friendly. I liked that the owners are local to our area, so they are able to keep an eye on their business. My own mother lives in another one of their properties, but in their Independent Living facility instead. I like how they run their properties. Their Independent Living facility gets the same food service as Grace Manor, so I know the food is really delicious. As we all know, the elderly have strong opinions about the food they get served!

We picked this community because, they were cleaner and friendlier, and it did not smell which was important. I would highly recommend. The family care coordinator is excellent and very caring.
They need to be more educated on how to deal with those who have memory care issues. You have to follow up in the evenings when there is no one watching how the residents are being cared for.
