If you have a parent in this place and they have speech problems DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. They allow male workers to bathe/ change diapers with the door closed so be aware of this when you think of this place. I had to file for a investigation to be done.

Rose of Sharon simply should not be operating. Period. Nobody should have to subject their loved one to the conditions there. Very disheartening. Way too many patients and way too few staff. They are woefully understaffed and while there are some good care givers, they simply cannot keep up and are overshadowed by others who just don''t seem to care. I can only assume their attitudes are due to being completely overwhelmed. The facility itself also appears to have not been updated for MANY years, and has equipment and furnishings that are falling apart and unsafe. My father went there for transitional care after a fall and basically laid in bed for 4 days without even being evaluated for physical therapy. Thankfully we were able to transfer him to another facility fairly quickly. The experience scarred him. :-(

Anyone responding to the call button is "not my room" and never gets anyone else to respond. Mom is left in a soiled diaper all day frequently. They put her to bed and close the blinds before she wants (right after dinner). She has no say in anything, this place is awful and they know it''s impossible to find another place.

Read moreExcellent short term rehabilitation experience. The staff, to a person, was extremely nice and very helpful during my stay. I couldn''t have asked for better care anywhere. Meals and menus were very good. I certainly didn''t ever go away hungry. My thanks to Good Sam. Bill Huber

I spent two months at Good Samaritan - Maplewood''s acute care center after a complex surgery. I felt right at home there. The nurses and aides were kind and compassionate. They worked hard to make me feel as comfortable as possible. The therapists were wonderful. They know how to help a patient heal and still be mindful of the patient''s emotional limitations. In addition, every room is private and the food is wonderful. I would definitely go there again and highly recommend it to anyone that needs transitional care.
