After three months here, Mom left with bedsores, swollen, black and blue oozing legs, a UTI, significant weight loss, combative attitude, has to wear diapers, and is completely immobile. (She was originally admitted after a fall, which resulted in a fractured hip.) Before her fall, our weekly outings included places like Ikea, where we''d walk for hours to look at merchandise. Now, she is confined to a bed and a wheelchair with no hope of ever walking again.
