Gilman Park Assisted Living
2205 Gilman Drive, Oregon City, OR, 97045
At the Gilman Park Assisted Living community in Oregon City, seniors can enjoy comfortable senior housing and exception residential care as they age. The facility, operated by Frontier Management, offers a wide variety of care services to residents, including assisted living, independent living, and memory care. Staff members are highly trained, offering compassionate care to residents during their stay. The facility specializes in personal care and Alzheimer’s care, but does not offer skilled nursing care. Residents may not receive ongoing medical treatments or health care services as part of their on-site care routine, however several hospitals are located nearby where residents can get medical treatment. In addition to long-term care services, Gilman Park offers temporary respite care. Respite care is ideal for seniors who typically receive care at-home, but who need temporary assistance while their primary caregiver is away. By staying at an assisted living facility, seniors can feel comfortable knowing their receiving top quality treatment during their respite care period.
Before a person is admitted to Gilman Park’s assisted living residence or memory care program, they must speak to a care advisor for a pre-admission assessment. The care advisor will discuss the applicant’s needs during the assessment to determine which care programs will suit them best. For example, the pre-admission assessments show if a person has short-term memory loss or Alzheimer’s disease, so the assisted living senior living options may not meet their needs. The care advisor also addresses a person’s capabilities, like their ability to feed themselves and shower without assistance. If a resident needs assistance maintaining their personal hygiene or changing clothes, the care advisor will make sure its addressed in their personal care routine.
As a Frontier Management assisted living residence, Gilman Park’s senior apartments are spacious and tastefully decorated. Many rooms offer walk-in showers, providing easy access to residents with limited mobility. Each unit has a kitchenette, but restaurant style meals are accessible every day in the facility’s community dining room. The memory care senior apartments are similar, and offer additional supervision for those living with Alzheimer’s disease. Thanks to Gilman Park’s wide variety of living options, residents can feel comfortably at-home during their stay without feeling like they live in a impersonal facility.
Of the nursing homes and senior living communities in Clackamas County, it’s clear why hundreds of seniors apply to Gilman Park every year. Their assisted living facility is spacious and they offer a wide range of long-term care services. Quality assisted living in Oregon is found across the state, and Gilman Park is among Clackamas County’s most highly-rated senior living facilities.

The staff is very friendly and caring. They have been able to answer our questions and help us get all care organized. The food is good and there are stable options if something doesn't appeal to my grandma that day. There are a variety of activities and the facility is well kept. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would definitely recommend Gilman Park to other families.

I was able to view Gilman Park Assisted Living, and the tour was nice. The facility was dated, it's very old, and that's what kinda scared me away from it. It could use some remodeling. It was a few hundred dollars cheaper than the other ones, but it wasn't worth the money from what I saw. The person who assisted me was great, he was very nice, answered my questions, showed me around, and gave me a nice tour. We looked at two rooms there, but he couldn't show me the dining room because it was closed down because they had a COVID scare at the time. He also showed me outside; they have a courtyard with a garden at the center. Their rooms were bigger than the room where my mom is now in, but they're again older and needed updating. They had an art room and a gardening center.
Read moreOur family had an in person tour with Gilman Park Assisted Living and they seem to go through facility directors every six months or so. We didn't feel that the tour guide was as knowledgeable as he could have been.
The tour person was awesome and wonderful. It was a grat place. The residents were nice. The distance was too far, and it needed a little updating.

My father has moved into Gilman Park Assisted Living. We chose it because the location is closer between my brother and me. I like that the residents and staff all appear to be having a good time when I'm there. Everybody seems to be in good spirits. Nobody is depressed or anything like that. The communication could probably use some improvement. I have had to reach out a couple of times to address some concerns, but they have always addressed any concern when I communicated it. I have tasted the food and I think it's great. My dad does not like it, but everything that I have had and the variety of food has been great. I have not observed activities, but I know that they have them. My dad has just not been interested in taking part in any of them. I would recommend them. I had no problems with it. The staff has been great, and the food has been good.

This really is the place for you if you like your food to have salt, sugar, and/or fat. They serve a lot of it and they don't give many options. But aside from food issues, it's the turnover, the lack of concern, the general attitude by many who work there. Lately a few new hires have the compassion and integrity you would love to see at a place like this. Unfortunately for my friend, too little too late. So little care. For her, it was Gilman Park very little assisted living. We had such high hopes but some of the med techs would rather be on their phones than help clients. Huge turnover in employees. A lot of good ones left.
