I went to Oaks at Shiloh Point. It was very small, and it only had 35 beds. They had lots of activities. The person I was supposed to meet with was not there, so I was shown around by a very nice maintenance. It wasn't as expensive as some of the other ones, but it was old. Laundry was not included, too. They have studios and small one-bedrooms. The staff was nice, and he was knowledgeable because, at one point in time, he had owned some of these independent living and assisted living places, so I felt he was knowledgeable.

I went to the Oaks at Shiloh Point. I liked just about everything. The grounds were all great. The rooms were wonderful. The people that ran it were extremely helpful, very caring. The residents that I spoke to were all very happy there and seemed very well cared for. They considered it their home. If I can get my mom out of the hospital, then I would consider putting her there. It was a really very nice place to be. The staff was very thorough, very caring, and she listened very well. She explained everything very well. I couldn't have asked for anybody better.

The only issue we had is that we did our loved one's laundry ourselves, but items would still routinely come up missing - shirts, blankets, towels. When he died, all of his bedding went missing for good, never to be found, and they didn't seem to care to find them. But I don't want to knock them too hard over some blankets and sheets. Other than that very last day, we had a great experience. And I would highly recommend them to other families.
