Read moreMy stepmother has been at Fairfield Village of Layton for more than a week now. So far, everything has been great. It is very well-run, and it is clean, and the staff is very helpful. They're always inviting her to go for walks or to come out into the common areas. It is an excellent facility.

We toured Fairfield Village of Layton, it was just marvelous. Everything about it was great. They had a great dining room, they had a craft room, they had a library. The hallways were spectacular, they were super wide to where you could probably fit ten wheelchairs side by side across the hallway. They had little shelves for every resident by their door, to decorate with pictures, or decorate on holidays. And they had two spacious bedrooms that a king bed would fit. It was wonderful. They had a pretty good-sized kitchen, and the closets were workable. They also had a dining area and a separate private dining area for the residents to have guests come for birthdays and special occasions, to eat all together in there. That was great. And they had a barber shop, a hairdresser and nail salon, a game room, and they had a movie theater. There's a snack area by the movie theater to microwave popcorn and get a soft drink, it was just great. The person who gave us the tour was great, you wouldn't have known that she was a substitute. It was really neat being able to see all the things they had, they have a laundry facility, or they could do their own laundry. She was very knowledgeable and very helpful.

I like Fairfield Village of Layton. That was one was nice; I like that one. It would be close to a 5 even though I didn't get to meet a lot of the staff there or have a meal, or anything like that, but the overall feel for it was really good. They had covered parking, which was nice. You have your own parking space, which was not like the other ones that I saw. They had independent living and then they had assisted living, too. If you wanted to move from independent to assisted, it would be a pretty easy transition because they're right next to each other, so that was the plus, too. We weren't able to go inside the independent living, but it's like connected to the assisted living. The people from independent living would go to the same activities as the people in assisted living, which was nice. The placement director was awesome. She wanted the best for my parents, so I thought she was great.

I toured Fairfield Village of Layton. It was very positive. The office manager gave me the brochures and showed me exactly what the prices would be; she answered all my questions and was friendly. Their accommodations were also the same as other places I toured; you could get everywhere in a wheelchair, and you can be in the showers in your wheelchair. There were different options if you wanted two bedrooms, one bedrooms, or studios. They had the different meals to go to, and a nice dining room with different options for each meal. They weren't stuck with one thing. They also had classes seniors could go to. They could go to church services. They had transportation available to go shopping. All those kinds of things.

My father-in-law passed away. He was at Fairfield Village. I just felt that they were easy, able to answer questions, talk to them, it was easy to go there and drop things off. We were able to talk to him through the window. The visiting hours were nice. When he was finally in his last days they allowed us to go in and actually be with him, and that was good, so I just felt like they really just treated him like a family member, so that was good. I thought they were very kind and compassionate towards him, and I felt like they worked hard to take care of him. It was very clean, very homey inside, they had a lot of nice stuff, and they provided great food for them, like home cooking and things like that.
