My wife and I started looking for a staged living community 4 years ago. Knowing that one, or both, of us would likely eventually fail and require professional care, we decided one of these places was the way to go. We knew we didn’t want to ever be in the situation where we would have to move in with one of our children and totally disrupt their lives. We looked at several places in the Rocklin, Roseville area and liked Eskaton the best, by far. Their campus in Carmichael is beautifully maintained, the residents are amazingly warm, welcoming and happy and so we decided that none others were even close to being as desirable. Unfortunately, my wife passed away, leaving me alone. In many ways I didn’t feel ready to move but, as the months passed, , I realized I needed to move to Eskaton for several reasons. I knew I needed more social interaction and I wasn’t feeding myself healthily. Here, I am assured of a healthy, balanced diet and there are more than enough activities and clubs to keep me and my brain active. I still have moments when I’d like to be back in my old neighborhood, but I really know that I made the right decision in coming here.

I did a tour of Eskaton Village Carmichael. I like the financial arrangement, and I thought the grounds were more appropriate. They just offered everything for a single price. I did a tour of Eskaton Village Carmichael. I like the financial arrangement, and I thought the grounds were more appropriate. They just offered everything for a single price. They have a gym, a swimming pool, a putting green, and a large park right adjacent to the facility. I did not try the food, but I noticed that for dinners, they have a choice of three entrees. They also have a grab-and-go area. That's very convenient. I saw the food, and it looked excellent. The only staffer I talked to was the person who was the sales agent, and he was very good and very informative. One thing I liked about them particularly was that, at some point in time I'm going to probably need to go from independent living to assisted care. They have that right there, and they also have memory care, which I don't think I may never need, but it was nice to know it’s there.
