My husband spent 2.5 weeks there before passing. Horrible small shared room divided by a curtain, only room enough for his bed and nothing else. I had to stand to visit, no room for a chair.. room smelled of urine, feet stuck to floor in bathroom, red light in bathroom !!!!!????? My husband was there to have rehab to get strength and muscle back to walk independently again. OT & PT would yell at him for not being ready and in his wheelchair, when it was up to the CNA to have him ready !!! He was afraid of them ALL. He was also diabetic and they would place his food out of reach, and give him everything a diabetic SHOULD''NT have, his water cup was always empty, I would walk to the nurses station to fill it for him. When he became ill due do lack of care, he wasn''t given anything to throw up in, he had to use his plastic urinal... DISGUSTING! They waited till his blood oxygen was 87 before calling an ambulance to take him to the hospital.... he passed on the way... they did not call me until the ambulance was on its way, I was told to wait until they got him there and I shouldn''t worry that he would be fine. He was dehydrated, lack of food, and made to stay in bed or a wheel chair at least 5 hrs or more at a time and wound up developing pressure sores. He screamed and cried for help but nobody ever came... please do your research before putting your loved ones here..... my personal opinion is that this facility should be closed down! I did contact an attorney which didn''t take the case, but was told not to give up on getting one. Why no legal system wants to address these rehab / nursing homes is a mystery to me! Are they too afraid of them? I could go on and on for hours for what I witnessed and what they did in 2 1/2 weeks while my husband was there, but I think I said enough to let you know this is NOT the place for your loved one. Believe me, I tried my best to be an advocate for him, a voice at this facility nobody listened. Nobody cared. I struggle each and every day that I couldn''t and didn''t do more for him and for others there. It''s been a night for a year and a half now and I know I will continue to have this nightmare for the rest of my life.

My wife stayed here post stroke and I have to say having been with her every single day, the nursing staff here is horrible. No empathy, rude, and argumentative! They made you feel like you were bothering them and that doesn''t allow for a very healing environment. The professional nurses all work for the hospital, she got sick there and had to go back to the hospital and the level of care change was amazing. My wife begged me not to go back, and that was me being with her 8+ hours a day. Therapy and front office were nice, that was it. Very little choice for culinary. If your loved one is vulnerable, don''t send them here.

My mom has been at Delmar Gardens West for 2 months and has received exceptional care. The staff are kind, courteous, and caring overall. When my siblings and or I have had concerns, they are dealt with promptly and we are given a follow up. Mom is constantly active and being engaged in activities and encouraged to socialize with the other residents. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this home!
Read moreNice front office people but resident care has gone down hill. Unless you plan to visit daily and at different times, would not recommend having a very dependent loved one here.
Press call button the response is poor. I was transferring from wheelchair to bed, I thought the aide was paying attention, and I slipped off the bed to the floor

From my understanding I was working for this facility, I was threatened to get my pay deducted because of emergency i took off for. I worked weekends almost every weekend it was something different. 4m I managed to get verbally abused by a resident that I informed the DON Nothing was done. but I was forced to accept the same person who wasn''t even on my assignment which I informed the nurse that told me if I don''t take her I can leave, i already informed the supervisor i wasn''t feeling well before this incident, so I did. Its amazing how people who work hard gets pushed away working in these type of environment makes me not wanna be in this field no more. If the state seen some of the things going on. Administration and nurses theres not enough words to be said. Delmar is a big company! (cnas get abused to much.) The best part of this place is the residents most of them appreciate help. Best regards to people that choose to have there loved ones there.
