We can see why the wait list is so long – everyone here is wonderful and the move-in process is easy. The book put in the room with paperwork is a fantastic idea – it helped a lot! Moving a parent is a major change, everyone at Dallas Retirement Village made this a smooth process for my mom and that is greatly appreciated. Major kudos to the chef and kitchen staff too, mom loves the food options.

Very informative meeting

BLACK AGENCY CAREGIVERS BEWARE!!! Staff caregiver refused to assist or communicate with me regarding patient care. Though the day shift medtech was kind enough to let me know where basic supplies were. The residents were a pleasure to care for. However, from 5 pm til 10 pm, things got worse for me. I received constant attitudes from staff and agency caregivers. I was often referred to "Hey you" or "that boy" and was often ignored when I called out for assistance on the walkie for resident care. Furthermore, the atmosphere when I came around staff became unnerving and uncomfortable with the stares I received and the inappropriate side comments about me as I left the room. This place definitely makes agency black caregivers like myself uncomfortable as well as explain which specific care each resident needs, like the removal of stockings or residents who may require extra care. Moreover, there was passive aggressive behavior demonstrated by staff towards black caregivers.
Read moreHad a wonderful luncheon. Staff was courteous. Grounds were well kept. Resident representatives were most gracious in giving us a tour of most of the village. Felt quite welcoming.
The welcome has been warm and supportive. Staff, residents and the entire environment is tasteful, helpful, eager to assist. Quality abounds! DRV is a wonderful place to call home!
