Crown Senior Living Indianapolis gave us a family feel. They brought three people into our meeting before the tour, whereas the others gave us a more corporate feel, and only had one person involved. They were all very polite and professional. They have a fully private room, while the other two facilities we toured only have semi-private rooms. They were in the middle of some renovations. Other than that, it was a nice, secure memory care area.

My mom is a resident and has been hospitalized twice within 2 months, this last time resulting in her bring in ICU on a ventilator for things that could have been prevented! She's not been given proper meds, not being watched very well at all and definitely hasn't been watched enough to notice lack of proper hygiene, even after I specifically told nurses and the doctor that she has issues with cleaning herself and they need to make sure she's showering, etc. The receptionist is only there M-F 9a-5p & that's the ONLY time phones are answered, if even then! There's literally NO WAY TO CONTACT A NURSE, ETC, FOR AN EMERGENCY while you're in your room, bathroom, etc! They even have a "memory care unit", I'd love to know how that's ran, especially since you can't reach staff if needed! I asked to speak with the head of nursing & was transferred to her voice-mail which is too full to leave a message... nor surprised! I would NOT suggest leaving your loved ones here!!!

You will notice that this facility has a 1-star rating. That is because Caring.com doesn't have 0-star ratings. Crown Senior Living is a horrible place to live or work. Many rooms, especially on the third floor, have been long infested with bed bugs. Want Wi-Fi? You'll be lucky to get a room with Wi-Fi coverage. Do you like good food? Forget that too. Rarely will they have editable food, and on those very rare occasions when they do, they allow only small portions with no seconds. Management is terrible as well. They all look down at their residents always thinking they can replace you with a better "class" of residents. Activities? Loser on that one too. The name of the parent company is Priority Life Care. The only "priority" they have is in making money by cutting costs at every corner. There is no care being doled out here. I would not put my worst enemy in this place. If you are looking for a place for a loved one to live while getting assistance, keep on looking.

I had an excellent visit with Crown Senior Living. I was very impressed. The staff was excellent and very caring. The food was so good. They had steak, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. The facility itself was beautiful, it was nice. The location is also excellent, I was extremely impressed. They have a lot of activities and they have transportation. It's just an excellent facility. They play cards, they take you to various places, and they play bingo and Uno.

My mother lived here. The staff seems overwhelmed and the managment does not seem to think there is a problem. I left at least 3 messages with the girl at the front desk to have someone call me and no one ever did, i finally had to stand at the desk and tell her I was going to wait until she could find someone. The medical staff are not there all the time and they are too busy to get people seen in time. My mom had a swollen foot and they didn't have time to have her seen because they said it was not serious. She ended up going to the hospital and almost had her foot amputated. And then when she was out of the hospital and had more issues I tried to set her up with a doctor that was outside of crown, my mom said they stopped her from going and told her she was not allowed. Well that made me very upset because as far as I knew my mom was not living in a prison. I thought maybe my mom was confused so i talked to crown about it and they said they could not take people to appointments.... but we already had transportation set up for my mom and besides I take her places myself all the time. I asked them why they were trying to stop my mom from getting medical care and if they get more money if the residents see their nurse at crown and then they acted like it was a big misunderstanding and said of course she can see any doctor she wants to. Shame on them for trying to control older people especially those who get confuse like my mom. I feel bad for the people who don't have family to step up for them. We are lucky found my mom somewhere better to live but i feel sorry for the people there without family.
