I moved from New York and started working here. I was hired as a Medtech/aid. The day of my interview I thought “ Wow what a wonderful Place and it feels like home” Well you know how they say don’t judge a book by it’s cover” ? What I thought was a place like home was honestly horrible in my eyes. No one really answers the call bells, there’s only a handful of residents who rooms are presentable. And are the residents being taken care of like they should? NOT AT ALL. Being there for a Month showed me A lot. No pay is enough pay to work somewhere where you really don’t feel comfortable, a place where I feel like the residents aren’t being taken care of properly. I watched a aid dig in a residents bowl of cereal while bringing it to resident. The staffing is horrible. There was nights that 1 aid was on shift. Some residents rooms are dirty the bathrooms are dirty. They have roaches. If you love your family member and not gone visit them on a regular this is not the place. I had to leave I will not risk my certification I had for over 15 years. This place need to get it together and it’s the staffing they have in place. The executive director seem like she gone switch things up but I wasn’t staying for that. I found somewhere that I feel comfortable at and the residents are being taken care of like they should. When I had a meeting and I told 3 head people that caregivers were complaining and I was told by the wellness director ” so if they have so much to say ask me why they still here working” That was my last night working. Cause again I had my certification for over 15 years I will not stay somewhere that it’s disorganized and disgusting. I give kudos to the laundry lady and the maintenance guy. They have about 2 caregiver and 1 medtech that honestly cares about residents. *keshia(medtech) Angie and Monique (caregivers)

The staff tries hard but when my father was there (2022) the facility has trouble keeping the Director position filled. The assistant director was great but she wasn't always there. It was impossible for a family member to get a staff person on the phone any time of day. The cleanliness rated a "2" due to the constant smell from those that were incontinent and needed a higher level of care.
Read moreFood left in room 3 days while my loved one was in hospital. The staff didn't take my loved one to activities. The food portions too small and not good looking. They would not pick up my loved one from hospital after their stay.
In our family's experience with Country Gardens of Duluth, we have found that while the staff are courteous, they are also sometimes slow to respond to requests.
I'd rate them barely a 1 in all categories. The food was awful and my loved one didn't want to eat it. It's poorly run: nobody at the front desk, can't call and reach anyone in the evenings, extremely short staffed. The handicap door didn't even work.
