My mother will move into Cogir of Rohnert Park Senior Living. I chose it, first and foremost, because they made a very reasonable offer for everything I needed. Secondly, when I got there, just the look and feel of the place. It's close to the mountains. And so, there's lots of vistas from the place itself. Also, the people there were very friendly and followed up well. We just seemed very relaxed. They showed me everything - the grounds, the dining room, the meeting rooms. For the price, the apartment was bigger than some of the other senior living places I looked at.

The Cogir of Rohnert Park Senior Living looked nice and clean enough. The staff was friendly. The dining area was like a restaurant. The place was pleasant to look at. They had a pool. They have some gardens, and they had a get-together room where people got together for hors d'oeuvres, or something like that, and games. I think it would be more like staying in a hotel. That was the atmosphere I felt because I didn't see any people out and about and doing things. The only ones I saw that were out were people sitting in a chair in the hallway. It was a hot day and nobody was outside. Nobody was by the pool. Nobody was in the game room or the dining room or anywhere. And when they said they had a snack bar that was available all day long after hours and things, it was only like a bowl of apples. I didn't think that was very much. If you're very independent and you don't need other people around, that's what the atmosphere was for me. The rooms were quite small. Very clean, very nice, but very small. So, I wasn't highly impressed. The only nice thing was that it was like staying in a hotel if you like that. There were only two that I met from the staff and they were both very, very nice. They said they had a calendar of activities, but I didn't see anybody. There were no people there, so I have no idea.

The woman that took me around Cogir of Rohnert Park Senior Living was very professional. She showed me everything and answered my questions. She made a follow-up call afterward and was very helpful. She made me aware of some other concerns that I would have in transporting my mother up here from Arizona. The layout was just a little more complex, in terms of getting from your room (depending on where you were) to the dining room. It's an older facility and I think the rooms were at the point where they needed to be upgraded or refurbished. They were clean, but they're hard floors, not carpeted. Overall, the place looked fine. It had a friendly atmosphere.

Cogir of Rohnert Park Senior Living was excellent. It was a beautiful environment. The people looked very happy. The staff was very helpful. I was very hesitant about putting my grandmother in a home and they were patient. Unfortunately, I just couldn't afford it. I would love to look into them in the future. They showed me a studio and it was perfect, perfect size, brand new, clean, and private. It was just excellent. It's absolutely beautiful. I wasn't able to see the activities in action, but they told me about it and they offer a lot. It was a perfect environment from beginning to end, once I walked in until I walked out. It was just beautiful. I wish I could get my grandmother there. They provide meals and it was in a restaurant setting, and it looked like it was gonna be excellent service. It was all great.

We toured Cogir of Rohnert Park Senior Living. It was readily apparent that all of the residents there were very engaged and very happy. The other places I toured were nice and the staff was nice, but this was just a step above. All the staff knew all of the residents. The residents readily came up and talked to the staff and shared what was going on. It was just a really positive environment. Everybody I encountered was very cordial, very warm, and very interested. The facility itself is a step above any of the others that I saw. The cleanliness was excellent.

I looked at the independent living at Cogir of Rohnert Park Senior Living, and then if I need assistance, it would be there. I was very unhappy that they charged you more for parking; none of the others seemed to do that. It was $35 more a month just to park your car there, which I thought was outrageous. I have eaten there a few times and the food seemed to be very good. The simple rooms were a little small, but adequate. I've had friends there, and so I've been in several of the different areas, and it's nice. I don't know whether I want to go there or whether I want to go to the other community which was not quite as nice, but at least you didn't have to pay for parking. Everyone was very nice and helpful, I didn't seem to have any problem with the staff. I'm wondering, going down and having your meals, seems like an awful lot of walking back and forth. When you go into the entrance, it was all redone, it looked very nice.
