We paid up front for my mother's care - she was in the facility for 31 days before she passed in May. We have been waiting for 2 months to get a refund for her care and room for a partial month, and 60% of the community fee less $500. (I asked to have the $500 waived since she was there just 1 day over a month, but it was denied.) After 4 requests we still have no idea when we will receive the refund despite assurances it would be forthcoming. Definitely has soured the great experience my mother had at this facility.

Cogir of Northgate Memory Care had a lot of residents, and so residents will have a lot more people to interact with. It's very homey and very friendly. Not too big and fancy. It's small enough that you'll get lots of individual attention, but it's big enough that as a memory care person, you'll have a lot more community and you won't be locked away in a separate area. The room was really nice. It's big and it's comfortable with windows. I found it to be bigger and more inviting than any of the other places I looked at. I love everything about it, but I would like maybe carpeting and more comfortable chairs in the community areas. They have exercises, art things, little places in the hallway where people can sit and talk and play games, movies, and some gardening stuff if people want to. I really like that they have an outdoor area for them to walk and sit outside.
Read moreI really liked this community however, there was another community that meant more to my family and stood out more that we could not pass up. The tour guide was nice and some of the other staff I was able to speak with were nice also.
Our family had an in person tour and even to this day we think about Cogir, it was such a great tour and in the person location. However our loved one loves to walk everyone and it is right on a busy street which we just did not feel comfortable with.
