We would have chosen Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green for my father. I liked that there was individual outdoor space for each apartment. I liked that it was an established facility and it had an indoor pool for exercise. I felt that the staff was very receptive, welcoming, and inclusive. We also got to meet with some of the residents, and they were very welcoming and only had great things to say about the facility. The staff who gave me the tour came on a weekend even though I believe it was his day off. He showed me around, and introduced me to staff and residents. I appreciated that because I was only there for the weekend touring places. So, it was nice that he was able to accommodate me. I did see a menu. They offered choices in a menu style for dining, which I appreciated.

I loved Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were all very attentive to the residents. They were all laughing and just enjoying their time there. It's an older building. We're aware of its age. However, the apartments were very nice. They were bright and clean. They were very pleasant. I was very pleased with what we saw there. We happened to arrive during a root beer float party. All of the residents were engaged. They weren't just holed up in their apartments. There were people out. There were a few ladies at a table playing dominoes. The activities calendar is full. There are so many options for the residents to have. It was just amazing to see how engaged they all were with different things that were going on. We did not go at the lunch hour. However, we saw the food that's available. We were very impressed with the nutrition. You can tell that they are concerned about the nutrition there and getting all of the different vitamins and minerals that they need. It's an older building and I understand that. They could upgrade some of the common areas. Some of the residents were like, "Hey, come on in and look around this one," and we got to see the apartments. They consider all the needs. They have a bus. They have one day a week where they take them shopping. They provide various activities for them, so that if this doesn't interest this person, there'll be something else that will. They provide a lot of different interactive things for the residents to do. One thing that we noticed overall was we talked to so many residents. They were out and about. It was after lunch. Everyone had a smile on their face. They were teasing with the staff. It was just amazing to see. The staff treated these people like this is their ministry and that they were there for the people, not just for a job. They really cared about these people.

Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green looked fine. The staff that we met was very nice, very cooperative, very open, and very easy to talk to. We met a lot of people and spoke to some of the residents. The issue we would have with that place is that the access to the outside is almost a little bit too much for our mother. The rooms were nice, the people were nice, and the facility was great. We saw the dining area. It was nice and clean, and the way the tables were done was nice.

We went to Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. It was pretty dark in the hallways, but the dining area seemed pretty good. I didn't like the unit that they showed us because the bathroom had a regular tub, so they're expecting senior people to step over into a tub, which my in-laws would not have been able to do. Also in the room, it had a connecting door to another room, but they had a sliding bolt on it, and they said somebody lived in the other room. Overall, we just didn't like the appearance of it, and it did not seem to have a lot of caregivers there that were out and around. They need to improve the bathrooms for sure. The shower-bath needs to be like a walk-in shower area and not a tub. They also need to have more brighter colored paint on the walls because it appeared pretty dark in there.

I've toured Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. I like that it's very friendly and active. But for my mom, there were a lot of long hallways, so mobility issues, that could be a problem. Although, they said that they tried to keep people with that kind of issue closer to the center where the activities are so they don't have quite as far to go. So they accommodate that, but if you get lots of people with those problems, somebody's going to get stuck further away. The staff members were very professional and very caring with the people that I saw them interact with. The place is a little bit older, and they're having to adjust things, like some of the showers were not walk-in, so they're fixing things as people come and go. There's a large dining room, a pool where they do water therapy, and they have a good-sized therapy room. Everybody has their own outdoor space right there at their place, more like an apartment living on the ground floor.

We toured Charter Senior Living of Bowling Green. The people were very nice. The staff seemed very nice and knowledgeable. We met some of the residents that live there. They all seemed to be really happy, and they liked it. It's not a new facility like the other place. The guy that took us around was very nice and very accommodating. I would give it a good rating because it just seemed to be a really good place. They had 2-bedrooms and studios. They seemed to have enough room. We went to the dining room and watched people eat. Their food looked good. They had a refrigerator and a little microwave in the room. They had a good parking lot and spaces to walk around.
