You never know what tomorrow will bring and change your life. One morning our loved one could not get out of bed. That led to a week in the hospital, failed rehab and an urgent need for skilled care. We were challenged to quickly find a good home with well-trained professionals who would sincerely care for her day and night. Fortunately, we found Cedarbrook-Allentown. It was number one on a hospital list that showed this county-owned home with the highest rating from Medicare. It is frequently inspected, very clean, has modern equipment and medical specialists on site. Food selections are nutritious and there are planned activities every day. In this year 2024, Cedarbrook is ranked, with data from Statista, Inc., as one of the best nursing homes in America. Our loved one has now been a resident here for a year. We are glad she lives in a very friendly culture with dedicated workers who have become her friends. And she is safe, with security guards on duty 24 hours per day. We see the staff and administrators every day, working hard to satisfy the needs of each one of the several hundred residents with severe limitations. These caregivers truly earn the Cedarbrook reputation as a "Community with Heart".

I have been living here for the past eight plus years & have a really busy happy life. True, not every day is all roses, but the good far outweighs the bad. I worked here eighteen years, so I knew when the time ever came that I needed care it would be Cedarbrook & I know I made the right choice. I have an active life here & can’t imagine being in any other home. The staff are great, & Jason Cumello, the Administrator, is a super truly down to earth leader. Even though he is busy, he never brushes you aside if you have a question. It is hard for some people to adjust, but if you take the time & join in all the activities, before long you will find that you are a part of the Cedarbrook family. The CNA’s remind us of our grandkids & our great grandkids, so we get to reminisce about our families & often get to meet their families. We have live entertainment weekly, along with daily activities on each floor. we get to go out to eat at nice places, go to Iron Pigs, & Phantom games, People who aren’t able or don’t want to go out have the option of dining in. Our resident shopper, Cathy, picks up the food from the restaurant & delivers it & the L E girls make the atmosphere special. Now, I have a question for you all! Do you think that Cedarbrook is the greatest?

Went to visit with my Aunt yesterday. Get to her room and there''s a strong oder of URINE coming from her room. Get to her bed and she''s trying to get up. When she''s standing up alittle bit, I see that she''s SOAKED in URINE. Went through her depends, pants, Blanket, and sheets. When we rang the bell waited for a staff member to come. No one came went and waited at the door. It took a good 5-10 mins to get someone. When I finally got someone and told them what my Aunt needed. Got a bit of an attitude from the Aide. They took my Aunt across the hall to the bathroom and changed her. I find it odd that they don''t have bathrooms in their rooms. Another Aide changed my Aunts bed and threw the linens on the floor. That''s a no no, I worked in Healthcare for over 20 plus years. The one pillow case had what looked like dried blood on it. Looked at my Aunts neck and saw an Orange color. They keep her in a wheelchair all day. She''s not getting the proper care. When i leave her she always says that she gets Nervous. That really makes her wonder what goes one.

The entire team at Cedarbrook has proven to be truly exceptional. To give some context, following a devastating family tragedy that left my brother incapacitated, my mother has been grappling with profound grief. The move to Cedarbrook, although initially challenging, turned out to be a source of immense comfort. From the very first day, the staff welcomed us warmly, staying by our side and addressing every question without hesitation. They went above and beyond to console my mother and provide reassurance that her son was in capable hands. Over the last 6 months, the care provided to my brother has truly exceeded all expectations. My mom is extremely particular about how my brother is cared for, and the staff has gone the extra mile to ensure that they meet her specific preferences. Beyond providing care, the staff treats my brother with profound respect and dignity—an aspect that is often overlooked by others given his circumstances. The staff''s compassion and dedication have been a source of solace for our family during this difficult time. Above all, my mother can now find peace at night, reassured by the fact that her son is receiving exceptional care from a team that genuinely cares for him. We are truly grateful for the wonderful care and the outstanding professionalism demonstrated by the Cedarbrook team, it has truly touched our hearts and words alone cannot express the depth of our gratitude.
