Do not take you loved ones here. The DON talks down to patients loved ones and staff. My friend had this encounter with her.

My husband was put into CLNH because of Lewybody dementia in February, 2022. He was later fitted w a leg monitor for security purposes. The first part of May he walked out the NH back door. There was no NH personnel on his hall at the time of the incident and the hall Nurse was sitting at her desk and said she was hard hearing and did not hear the alarms go off. I was asked that he be removed from the facility immediately to a secure unit because of a security risk. I had no place to put him at that moment so I had to spend the night at NH, to monitor him, so we could find another facility the next day. We were blessed finding a NH that is very accommodating and the facility is like a hotel. He is in a regular room, not a security unit, and the NH said he was not a risk, and he is happy with the move. The DON and management at CLNH were rude almost to a harassment stage. They took NO responsibility for their failure of not monitoring him. They BLAMED HIM. They have/had a couple of nurses and aides that are/were very professional and do their jobs like they should. They don''t stand around talking on their phones or gossiping like I''ve seen some do. I''m very disappointed that the level of care has declined since the first time he was put there for therapy approximately a year prior. I give them three stars ONLY because of their Therapy department and they have a great food menu for patients. The best food I''ve eaten in a nursing home.

As a young kid I left junior and senior high every day and walked down the street to work at a NH 3-11 as an aide I completed school and went to LVN school and later an RN . My memories of NH were bad smells and washing diapers and lazy nurses caring for the patients. The first time I walked into Cedar Lake the smell was clean ( the housekeeper Teresa is proud of the job the performs with her team) Everything seemed as if it revolves around making the place as close to living in your own home as possible. The family owned business strives daily to make this building their clients home and they’ve done just that!! I’m proud to know the owners and administration and will choose this as my home if it’s still there when I need them.

I worked part time as a Maintance man. They are wonderful people, the residence were all very happy and satisfied. The care they give them are amazing they truly care about their well being. The staff from top to bottom are very friendly and experienced. They follow all COVID protócalls. Never smells like some others I''ve been to very clean. When it comes time for me to go to a place, that''s where I want to be.
