Based on the experience we have had so far, the areas we think they need improvements on would be their medical evaluation process. The needs to drastically improve. Our loved one needed a higher degree of care than they could provide, but they decided to take her anyways.
Staff know our dad and seem to care about him for the most part. Minimal turnover amongst caregivers, leadership has changed 3 times in 13 months. Kitchen staff and maintenance staff have also turned over. It's good for the value. Newest manager seems to be making positive changes.

Cedar Hills Senior Living wasn't the best. Even though I had reserved a tour time, they weren't expecting me to show up. We had a lady walk us around. The actual room wasn't bad, but the whole facility was boring. They didn't have a whole lot to offer in terms of activities. They said that sometimes people will come in, but there was no schedule or anything, so it was kind of inconsistent. The room was a decent size. There was space for a bed and space for a living area, if you wanted to separate it like that. There was a little kitchenette and a bathroom. The room wasn't necessarily the problem; it was the rest of the facility. They had a courtyard and a hair salon that wasn't in use. You could tell that it was not the normal task for the person doing the tour. Apparently, the person that was supposed to do the tourt was not there that day.

We are not sure about the activities, we do not think our loved one participate and we never saw a schedule of what activities were available. I would not recommend for a mobile, generally-healthy senior. Our loved one did not like being locked in, and he was very frustrated that he had to knock on the front door a long time before he was let in. Since he does not have dementia of any kind, this seemed like an excess of security and caused frustration for him. I know that other families may need that sort of security, so I don't mean that to be a criticism. Just not a good fit for my dad.

My brother is in Cedar Hill Senior Living. They're great. I like the age group, the activity, and the care. It was a small and quiet community, so I felt that it's something that would fit his needs better. He's not quite as active as most seniors. He had a stroke and Cedar Hill is more on the assisted living side. The community has been Covid free and they check people who go in and out. You can do monitoring of your loved one if you want that. Parking space is good and the place is well lit up. They have a library. The gardens and the courtyard are just beautiful. The food smells absolutely amazing. They have wheelchair accessible units available there. The community is so small that they all get along. They all seem to look after each other and for me, that was very impressive. They have church for people who want to participate. They have activities,a library, and it's wheelchair accessible. They have a smoking and a non-smoking area for people to sit on and I didn't see that in any other facility I looked at.

I moved into Cedar Hills Senior Living. Well at first, I had some trouble with the room, but the staff worked with me on it and I'm moving into the room that I expected to get when I got here. I would rate the food fair. The dining area is good. They have bingo, and sometimes they have music come to play at the window, and sometimes they have popcorn. Yesterday, we had hot chocolate. The staff is good.
