My mother was at Cedar Creek of Muncie. She was there for three years. It was a very nice place. They took pretty good care of her, but I felt like they were always a little bit understaffed. The room of my mother was like a studio apartment. It was kind of small and tight with furniture in there. They had two-room apartments, but they were quite a bit more expensive. The staff were very good. They didn't have an activity director full-time there, and they didn't have a whole lot of activities there. They had a library. Originally, the menu was whatever they made that day is what you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Now they're going to have choices of different entrees that they can pick from, so that's going to be a better thing for them. It was a pretty nice facility and pretty well upkept, but I felt like they were kind of short-staffed most of the time. Other than that, it was a good place.

My loved one was only here for a week or two. I had told Lynd Place my loved one needed memory care. They found out within the week she was there that they could not care for her because she needed memory care. They helped us find another place, but it was very frustrating that they did not listen to us in the first place and said they could provide the care she needed.

She had one nurse in particular, and I cannot remember his name, but he was the only male nurse there at the time. He was extraordinary. She really, really liked him a lot. A very good nurse. Cleanliness and upkeep was very, very good. Her room was awesome. She had the largest apartments, to my knowledge, that she could get. She wasn't happy to be there. My dad had just passed away a month before, so she couldn't stay at home alone, and so she wasn't happy to be there. But it wasn't because of Lynd Place. My mother wasn't crazy about the food. I think breakfast was her favorite meal. They need to improve in having more variety of meals, and less to-go types of meals.

We decided on Lynd Place because price wise they were a bit cheaper. All of the staff were very welcoming and outgoing during our tour. My mother chose this facility because she felt the residents seemed to be more out and about. they have some really good staff members here. Our only problem has been with the cleaning services - they are not changing her sheets and cleaning on a regular basis - but they are listening to our concern and trying to improves. Other that that things have worked out great and we would recommend them to others looking.
Read moreThey did great beforehand. They had an abrupt management change and patient care suffered due to this. We removed our loved one because of this. The change in care I would characterize as "fell off a cliff". Go to their sister facility instead at New Castle.

Lynd Place looked very nice and clean and things seemed to be operating smoothly. Everybody was busy doing their job. They were welcoming when we came in. The staff was very good at explaining everything and giving us an idea. I could tell that he was concerned about the residents. There was a man that stepped out in the hall that needed something and the staff was busy giving us a tour, but he assured the resident he was going to send somebody to take care of that. He got on the phone and notified somebody to go take care of it. I liked the room setup and the courtyards. I liked that it was on our way into Muncie, so it would be nice if we could just stop there every time we went to Muncie and see my father-in-law if he was there. We liked the enclosed courtyards and access to those and seats here and there in the hallway, so they could walk and then sit down and rest and then go again. It was a little bit more modern than homey, but it had a fireplace and one lady was sitting by it.
