I did not have a good feeling when I visited Carlton Senior Living Fremont. They had music playing in the common rooms, just constant music, and my stepmom likes quiet. They have a nice courtyard and they even put music out there. It didn't have the homey feel that I felt in another facility. It was on a busy street, too, so if you happen to be on the street side, there is noise. However, it's just a personal preference. Those things might not be so important to other people.

My mom is a resident of Carlton Senior Living Fremont. It is very nice and clean. It's a big community with plenty of activities for everyone to do. Their rooms are a pretty good size/pretty big. She's in a one-bedroom, and it's a pretty decent size. They have transportation and resid...

My mom is a resident of Carlton Senior Living Fremont. It is very nice and clean. It's a big community with plenty of activities for everyone to do. Their rooms are a pretty good size/pretty big. She's in a one-bedroom, and it's a pretty decent size. They have transportation and residents can go from place to place as they want to. Where it's at is very convenient. There is something called a Fremont hub. It's like a little mall right in the corner. So, everything's there. They have good food; a three course meal every day. Like everywhere else, they have activities every day, and keeps the residents busy. I did not try the food when I was there, but since my mother has been there, she likes it.

My brother moved into Carlton Senior Living Fremont. I really love this community; it's too bad that they don't have memory care. That would be great for my brother. But he now has a living room and a bedroom, which are a very nice size. He has a nice little kitchen area. The floors are vinyl, so they can be mopped up easily. He has nice, clean carpets. He has a patio where he can slide the door open. They have a little patio area that has a fountain, so he can listen to the water from his room, which is very nice. The people there are very nice. They do have different caregivers who rotate, so sometimes the caregivers are very well versed in my brother's needs, and then sometimes they're new so I have to remind them, but that's just par for the course. Other than that, they're very responsive when I call. They will check on him and they call me, so the communication is always there. I like the environment in the dining room; you can order your food like you're in a restaurant, and you have tables where you sit. You feel like you're in a restaurant; you're not stuck in a cafeteria type of thing where you only have a few choices. At this place you can order whatever you like. They have a variety of choices. They have a variety of desserts and a variety of fruits and things like that. They also have a café down on the bottom floor that opened in late April or early May, and they have sandwiches you can get for free. You can get fresh-baked cookies, they have donuts, sometimes they'll have coffee with Bailey's or rum cake, and on Wednesdays they bring in donuts. But you can also just have a ham sandwich, or you can get juices. They have a machine that you can access without charge, which I think is fabulous. They also have a popcorn machine, a theater, and a game room with a pool table, a card table, and air hockey. So there are a lot of amenities at Carlton.

My friend moved into Carlton Senior Living Fremont. It's a very active, nice community, so that the residents there stay active. They always have something pretty much throughout the week going on for the seniors to participate in. There is a lot of help on hand, you know, employees that are walking the halls and about. The way the building is built is actually really good because it's in a circle so no one can get really lost when they leave the room. The way it's made, its design is really good. They have exercise classes, they take walks, they go on a trip every week to a restaurant, they go on a trip every week to shop if they want to go shopping at the mall, they take field trips to places, they have the brain class, brain exercise, they have a movie theater, they have a band every week come in and play, they have an art room so they can do activities. They have a game room, they have a center courtyard, they have a hair salon, and a nail salon. They have a podiatrist that comes every month. They have complimentary escorts to show them around, pick them up for lunch, breakfast, bring them down for lunch, come and bring them down to dinner. Her apartment is spacious. It's really nice. The cleaning service is included, once a week they come in and they clean, and they also do laundry.
