I am disturbed reading a review incorrectly stating that rights of visitors are being violated by security guards who, in the opinion of the writer, are asking personal questions before allowing cars through the gate. Prior to the pandemic the questions were simply who are you visiting, what unit and building do they live in and what is your name. These simple questions seem to ensure that the visitor has a reason to be there. Since the pandemic, the questions being asked have to do with your state of health and whether or not you have traveled out of the country. My mother is 94 years old. I have comfort in knowing that Brooksby is doing what it feels Is necessary to keep her safe. It’s unfortunate that some feel that by asking simple questions about the possibility of infection is somehow violating their rights Brooksby thank you for all you are doing in keeping my mother safe.

My parents had a relatively good experience in independent living, but since they moved into assisted living at Maple Grove things have gone down hill. They have lied to them more than once about the hot water (there is none). Seniors need hot water for proper hygiene and tepid water could lead to a cold or pneumonia. There has been no resolution of this situation. At this point it is elder abuse, plus it is illegal to arbitrarily decide on water temperature for anyone in the state of Massachusetts. No one at Brooksby is doing anything about this. **UPDATE** after much back and forth and reporting the situation at the state and local levels it seems as if there is hot water now, but not after my parents being told different things by different people at the age of 90. **UPDATE** I have already spoken with Justin Paradis who talked over me and refuted everything I and my parents had reported on the situation. It was clear he wanted to intimidate me and he called to gloat after I already knew that the issue was resolved. My parents pay $14K a month in fees and this issue should have been tested and resolved before they walked in the door. Thankfully they have my brother and myself to advocate for them.
