My mother was in the memory care facility here. I reported them to the state and they were investigated by Texas Health and Human Services. My complaints were substantiated and they were cited for NEGLECT. My mother fell in her room and they simply put her back in bed and told no one. She fractured her hip and they left her there without any medical intervention or pain medication for 17 hours. She suffered tremendously in pain and they ignored her. My mothers case was not the only one. Please do your research. Don’t bring your loved one here.

My dad stayed at Brookdale Willowbrook. I would rate every single thing about that place a one. It was abysmal, and my dad nearly died there. He was sent there from a hospital to get antibiotics, and they didn't give him the antibiotics until he had been there a little bit. They just ignored him. It is really hard to find, it is old, and it is not a very good area. There's only one nurse per floor, and this is an actual nursing home, and so one nurse would be rounding, and if there was an emergency or anything else, it didn't matter. They wouldn't even answer the phone for like ten to 15 minutes. I would call and my aunt would call, and nobody would answer the phone. It was absolutely abysmal. It was not a good value as far as I'm concerned. I would not recommend this place to anybody that you cared about or loved. He actually liked the food there better than where he lives. That's the one thing that's better than what he's got now. They need to improve on everything. They could fire the whole staff and hire people with compassion.

I thought for sure that we were going to end up here. The staff members were amazing, we only went for a visit but I was so impressed with the staff. I cannot emphasize that more. I would feel really very comfortable in moving my dad there. But to get my dad to sign up, we needed this place to have an independent living. But this community didn't have that. Their facilities were great, and the room was perfect. They have a calendar of activities as well, and I was really impressed. I wish it would all have been on the ground floor, although there might be a good reason to have a second floor.
