The rooms are spacious with a suite type atmosphere - separate sleeping and sitting area, large bathrooms, spacious closets. The food is varied and looks nutritious. Dining service is presented well, all residents are encouraged to take their meals in the dining room, tables are set and decorations are cheerful. They make every effort to learn the residents likes and dislikes and prepare meals accordingly. The staff is AMAZING! The Care Givers, the Nurses, the Support Staff - everyone is just AMAZING. They get to know the residents and treat everyone with respect. They are quick to give a hug when needed, and walk the floors, or help someone eat - whatever is needed.

My mom has moved in and out of Brookdale Tulsa 71st and Sheridan. She stayed there for one month. The care was not adequate. She was not kept clean. The staff didn't communicate well with us. She enjoyed her food. She had no complaints about the quality of the food. They had an in-house chef and the meals always looked good. The place was a little run down and not kept very clean. It smelled like urine, which I know happens sometimes. I wasn't just put off by that, but her room was not kept clean. We saw feces in her room on the chair and stuff multiple times because she was trying to take care of herself. They had wonderful activities. They have an outdoor garden center that is in a gated area. They've got beautiful outdoor spaces, lots of big TVs with movies and lots of music areas, plenty to do and a lot of people. When we were there, they admitted that they were understaffed for the number of people that they had. Their staff was not properly trained, was aggressive with people, and was leaving people unattended for too long. We did not feel like my mother was safe.

Read moreBrookdale staff really cared for my mom. They were always very attentive and accommodating. They truly understood each stage of dementia and were very knowledgeable about how to best care for my mom in the least restrictive way. My mom was always happy there.
Our family had an in-person tour and from everything we saw in the community and all the staff members we met with, we thought it was a great experience.
