Imagine waking up each morning with the knowledge that you don’t have to cook meals, sweep and mop the floors or pull weeds in the front yard. It’s a pretty good feeling, especially when you realize it means you have more time to do the things you really want to do. Since our team tackles all the household chores for you, you really can focus on doing more of the things that bring you joy.

You may find your loved one enjoying programs like:
-
Gentle exercise classes
-
Devotional hours
-
Word games

Very welcoming staff and community. They have learned the names of my brothers and my children and they greet us by name whenever we show up. They treat my mother and us with kindness, dignity, and respect. The food has been wonderful - good variety and nice quality. We really liked the size of this facility and the way each building has its own sense of family within the staff and residents. Other places we looked were much larger and we felt Mom wouldn't get the personalized care and attention we wanted her to have. We also toured a smaller facility and felt that was too confined. Shadowlake was really the Goldilocks of assisted-living facilities for us!

I went to Brookdale Shadowlake. The staff was lovely, very informative, and very helpful. It would have been very satisfactory, but my stepson and his family live closer over at the other place. They're very willing to go out of their way to answer any of your questions, to do things, to help you in any way that they possibly can to make you feel comfortable. It's a smaller property with about three buildings on that delightful, very cute little property. It was very friendly looking and appealing. I only said hello to a couple of the staff, but the lady during the tour was really wonderful and very helpful, and called me quite often to see how I was doing, to follow up with me and everything.

What we really like about this Brookdale community location because it is smaller and you get to really know the staff team and they really get to know the residents and their families really well. They are always willing to be very helpful and accommodating. When it comes to the quality of food that could use some improvement - they could work on having more heart healthy choices.
Read moreMy tour at Brookdale Shadowlake was very helpful. The staff was attentive and answered all my questions. I saw a studio apartment, they had common spaces, and I also saw the dining area, and they all seemed fine. The facility seemed small.

We toured Brookdale Shadowlake. The staff there is not as well-trained in dementia and memory care as in the other facility. We saw some instances there where we thought that they seemed short-staffed, and the staff handled the situation poorly. We were about ready to move my uncle in there because it's nicer and the room is bigger, and then we thought no. However, the rooms were nice and large and the private bathrooms were nice.
