Brookdale–Oak Park is a wonderful environment to be in! The staff is very warm, inviting, kind and understanding. Anyone who wishes to live there can look forward to a very calming and supportive experience.
Brookdale Oak Park has very friendly staff, residents and environment. When we moved in we were greeted with lunch basket and flower and a lot of personal assistance from the staff. One repair was needed on move in day and it was completed within hours.

This facility obviously has a great environment which is why I felt confident after an interview recently. Unfortunately, I felt rejection after interviewing for a position only because I was told one thing and it never happened. I was lead to believe I would receive some form of communication. After an interview and a 30 minute assessment which was time invested I would have thought communication would be the next best option. Nope! After the assessment, I heard nothing back. Just GHOSTED. It definitely worked out for the best. I was probably discriminated against because they wanted someone “older” in the position applied for. What a joke. To the manager that interviewed me communication is key. A simple follow-up would be great after meeting with your candidates, although you may have no intentions on moving forward with the hiring process.

Without question, Brookdale Oak Park had one of the best communities of residents of all the places I looked at, both here and in Evanston. It was a very energetic and active community. The staff who gave me the tour was great. She's been there for a number of years, so she knew the place. There was a very friendly vibe and a good vibe between the residents and the staff. They all seemed to know each other, and there was a lot of smiling and greeting, and they were engaged with each other. The physical building itself and the rooms were dated. Brookdale had a great sense of community, but the rooms were darker and a little smaller. The layout didn't make as much sense. Brookdale had one thing that you cannot discount as a senior. It had a great location. You could not get a better location for a senior who can't walk for miles. Everything was literally outside your door. It had a pretty robust set of group activities, and there was a lot of community interaction and involvement.
