From The Community
Brookdale North Glendale is an upscale memory care community located in Glendale, Arizona. We’re nestled in a quiet neighborhood, on beautifully landscaped grounds, but conveniently around the corner from area shops, restaurants and parks. And our industry-leading Clare Bridge memory care program is here to help your loved ones living with Alzheimer’s or dementia with the care they need to live a purpose-filled and meaningful life.
Our memory care program provides a daily path of engagement that meets our resident’s skill level and allows them to flourish in our care, even with advanced expressions of the disease. Residents will also engage in stimulating activities like arts and crafts, as well as light exercise classes, soothing hand massages, and social interactions. And you’ll rest easy knowing that our staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. We take a person-centered approach to care, and our attentive staff is here to help with things like bathing, dressing, dining and mobility.
When it comes to choosing your loved one’s new home, you and your family have a choice of apartment floor plans, and each option is pet-friendly and comes with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. There’s also a spacious living area, closet space and private bathroom. Seniors will enjoy strolling down one of our scenic walking paths, having a cup of tea in our garden courtyard or engaging in some friendly competition in the game room. Additional amenities include a fireside living room, private dining room and salon.
Our social calendar activities are inspired by our residents, ranging from book reviews and sing-a-longs to social hours and brain-stimulating games. They’ll also enjoy day trips to places like the Archibald Smith Plantation Home, Bulloch Hall, or A Southern Trilogy. What I liked about Brookdale North Glendale was the openness of the facility, and it was small. My mom was in an assisted living facility, and I didn't like the memory care options that they had where she was staying. I like having a dedicated memory care. Some places that were assisted living kind of just shut off a corridor, and I didn't like that. Right now, they're wonderful, but she is still transitioning, so it's kind of hard. The people I have interacted with and worked with have been wonderful, like the executive director and the head of nursing, Erica. It's a wonderful layout. It's cozy and open, but they don't have as much outdoor space. I haven't really participated or seen my mom participate in activities, but based on their schedule, it seems good. Memory care is always too expensive, but I think it's OK compared to the others. I think it's all within the realm of the budgets. She is in a one-bedroom with a bathroom, but no shower. The rooms are all the same. They have one that's a little bit bigger, then they have a double room, but they didn't have a lot of availability. They're pretty much booked up.

They're very good with communication-very friendly and approachable. They have addressed anything right away. My loved ones took awhile to adjust but they are very comfortable with staff. They are very accommodating with everything that was needed for my loved. Overall, it is goos as it can be. The environment was not too big or small, it's like a resort. They have an outdoor area, and it feels very homey. You feel good, when you walk in.

We chose Brookdale because of the close location to family, it is a smaller facility, and they had a private room available. The room sizes at the facility are on the smaller side compared to others that we looked into. I have noticed that there has been quite a bit of turnover of management. It is a small, intimate facility but the care is very individualized and we have been very pleased. I would recommend to others looking.
