This was a very nice place with a friendly staff who were always willing to help.We didn't really have much exposure for meals and dining.

I was well received at Brookdale Lake Tavares. There was a welcome sign as I entered the reception desk. They provided me with some water as a refreshment. The director who was going to do the tour came down. However, I thought the tour was rather brief and I was not seated in an office so I would have an opportunity to ask questions. The tour took no more than 10 minutes. They thanked me for coming and that was pretty much it. The lady who did the tour knew that I was expected at a certain time. I arrived a little bit early because I hadn't been to the community before and when she came down, she said that she was on a conference call, I believe, or a Zoom call, and I guess I interrupted that. She was very professional, but somewhat on the brief side, maybe a tiny bit abrupt. I spoke with some of the residents there and they seemed to be happy with the facility. They showed me a room and it was very nicely appointed and very cheerful. All the amenities that were there would work well for my husband or for anyone who was staying there. It was very nicely presented, at least the model room was, so I'm assuming that his room would be similar to that if we had selected that facility. The dining area was more formal. I was on another level looking down. It looked like they had tablecloths and cloth napkins. It was also very nicely presented. I left feeling that it was an OK place. Everything seemed to be professionally maintained as far as the exterior and the interior.

We picked this community, because the value was better for what was included. They also had a special on his room. The people there are really nice. Building is older, but well kept. He has his own space. All is all, affordable and decent care. It is an older building and needs some updates.
