Brookdale Fort Wayne was a very good facility. The tour I had in their memory care went very well. Overall it was very, very good, and very accommodating. I have nothing negative to say about them. The staff was very friendly. The decor was fine. The rooms were kind of outdated, but they were going to paint the room that my uncle would have been in, and recarpet it. I think if they had done all of that it would have been a very nice place. Their dining area looked very nice, too. It was a very warm and homey environment.

The price at Brookdale Fort Wayne has gone up quite a bit, but that is to be expected. They had different room options, which was good. I found that they had plenty of staff and they were extremely helpful right out of what we'd like to see. Their contract terms are all 30-day, nothing long-term, but they have a $2,000 deposit. That includes everything except the landline. So, that's your TV, the Internet, and things of that nature. Also, they clean the room twice a week, but there is no cooking in the room and of course, they're not furnished. The price for a studio, which is the regular room, was around 340 square feet, and that's going up to $3900 a month. The smaller studios are 235 square feet and to me, the rooms looked small, but I think that's just the way it is. Their meals and the dining room looked really good. They had the menu posted. It looked well done and the facility was nice and well-maintained. They have good parking and it's a good location. It's close to everything in town, so it's still quiet. They also have transportation services offered and the way they come up with where they go is all the residents get together and kind of decide. So, they kind of self-select where they want to go. If something comes up and they want to go somewhere, they can work with you on that. The facility is clean and well-maintained. There were about 25 residents in the main facility (assisted living). I walked around and talked to all the staff. I also got there early and I talked to residents to see what they would say about the place and that's the kind of place that I'm looking for. I asked some of the residents what they thought of the food and everybody liked it. They had a really good dining arrangement. It was clean. They could eat inside or outside. They had a little cozy room they could go to. It was laid out well. My only concern is it's more than what my aunt wanted to pay, but I think we're going to go through that process. Other than money. I would rank it high. They have rooms available right away. There's no waiting list.

Need explanation.
