[name removed]did an amazing job getting assisting me in getting my father onboarded.[name removed] seamlessly coordinated all medical activities and ensured all in-house care was aligned to Dad's needs. [name removed] , the general manager ensured our billing was correct and constantly inquired as to how to help Dad acclimate to his surroundings. Dad has raved about the food and looks forward to each meal. Dad's apartment is approx 350sq ft. Bedroom, bathroom with walk in shower, LR large enough for large recliner and love seat. Kitchenette with sink, microwave, and mini fridge with plenty of counter space for coffee maker, and other necessities and dish and snack storage. Overall I'm very happy. I'd highly recommend either Brookdale site in Edmond.

My loved one was in Brookdale for [time frame removed] and then contracted Covid from an employee and passed away. I thought the employees were kind but there were not enough of them. Residents were having to wait too long for assistance. The community promised things they could not provide. I think my loved one needed care far beyond what they could provide. They charged us for a month after my loved one passed and it took a lot of effort on my family's part to get money back. I do not think I would recommend their facility. I hope this gives you an idea of what we dealt with in Brookdale.

On the negative side: We were a little disappointed in housekeeping. I don't think her room was ever vacuumed. There were a few employees who were a little difficult to deal with. We were not impressed with [name removed], the nurse. He was a bit dismissive. I would suggest they have a different system for letting visitors in and out. There were several times I couldn't find an employee to let me leave and when I did, I sometimes received "attitude", like I was bothering them. Most were very sweet, just a couple acted like it was a bother. On the positive side: Mom really enjoyed the meals. She ate better than she ever has. Mom also loved the activities director and the visitors that came in to perform. Most of the staff was very good to her. The maintenance person was particularly very kind to her. Most of the servers were good to her as well. I observed them every night when I sat with her during dinner, and they took care of her. I don't know if I will use Brookdale again if we need to move mom out of her house. We will probably look for a different place. For short-term, it was okay.

My experience with Brookdale Edmond Danforth was great. We had no problems with it. Mom's only concern is the rooms are small. The biggest room that they have was pretty small, and she's in a walker. It was kind of hard getting around in a walker. The staff was great. They gave us lunch, and the food was great. We had roast beef, mashed potatoes, and carrots. It was very tender, and the dessert was wonderful. Compared to some of the other ones, it was on a smaller scale. She loved the whole facility, but the room was too small.
