My husband is in Brookdale Country Day Road. They're friendly, caring, and loving. It's a very nice facility. They have a dining room, an activities room, a chapel, and they wash and dry the residents' clothes if the resident wants them to. They take the residents to and from the dining room that need assistance. They provide housekeeping. The food is usually very good. It looks pretty on the plate. They have bingo and happy hour. They have rocking chairs out front where the residents truly enjoy with fans and cover. They offer transportation to and from doctor's offices and such. They have a salon where residents can get hair done, fingers and toes. They have July 4th parties and Labor Day parties. They have singing. They have a girl that comes in and does some chair exercises with them. They have different churches that come in and have bible study and Sunday school. Everything is far more expensive these days than we would like, but for the quality that you get, it's definitely four stars. The business staff, the office staff, the activities director, and the nursing staff are five stars.

We toured Brookdale Country Day Road, and we were greeted by Amy. She's the person who does the walk through and she was wonderful. The atmosphere was amazing. There are rocking chairs out front, and there must've been 15 of them full of people chatting and listening to music that was playing. People were talking. We asked the ladies how they liked it, and they loved it there. They had fun and they said they liked it. We walked through the rooms, and the rooms were great. It's clean, and it smelled good. It seemed like there was plenty to do and plenty of items to eat on the menus. They sold us that, and the lady who gave us the tour was wonderful. They had a couple of different sizes of rooms. They were very nice. There were windows in each one. They brought their own furniture, and it was like an apartment. It was more like a nice hotel room. The bathrooms were huge. There were safety features everywhere. They not only wear something around their neck but in the restroom, they have cords they can pull up. It's very easy to get in and out of showers. It's large for someone in a wheelchair. They can get around the room. They also allow them to personalize each room and even put a little flag in the hallway that shows their personality. It was really neat.

Brookdale Country Day Road was where we wanted my grandmother to go and then she got sick, so we just kept her close to our home. I wanted to move in there. It's a lovely building, they had great staff, and it's a good location. They'll take you to places in town, they will get you to your doctor's appointments, they have a doctor that comes there, and they have a full beauty parlor. I was ready to get old, so I could move in. I did not try the food. They were serving lunch when we were there and it smelled delicious. They had church groups, music, arts and crafts, games, bingo, and board games. We wanted her to be able to go there. Everyone we met, even just in the hallway, was so nice. The facility was gorgeous and well-maintained. They had private sitting areas in each wing for families, a library, a big giant front porch with chairs and rockers, outdoor courtyards, and a sunroom.

My loved one has lived here for [time frame removed]. The receptionist, med techs, caregivers, cooks, and cleaners are good people. The nurses also try to do their best. The new director who took over the facility in May (2022) is not very responsive to the needs of the residents or their loved ones. He's not very good at following through or following up. To rephrase, he's not going to take action if there is an issue of any kind. When he can't (more like a won't) take action, he will proceed to ignore most correspondence, especially, in the form of email. Verbally communicating to him also doesn't get anyone anywhere either. Again, he's not good with following through. So, if there is an issue, he's not going to do much about it.
