PLEASE!!!! spare yourself the heartache and don''t put your family member in this facility please. I''ve worked here and its heart-breaking and frustrating to see what the residents go through because all the well- paid people in this company collects the elderly money and enjoy and watch them die or cover up things so the facility doesn''t get shut down. I pray one day everything gets exposed one day this facility in Tacoma, WA should be shut down. I have photos of bed bugs found on a residence plate that is no longer living and I bet they still haven''t got the building treated. check out these photos below if someone know how to report these people to the health department I would do so. pictures below proof of bed bugs in room 215

"We do not get what we pay for. It gets more expensive every year, and we get less" - my mother, resident. I''m not sure any corporate assisted living entities are well run and make the residents feel important, cared for and at home, but Brookdale Allenmore, in my experience, does not. I wish we had found another way to care for my mother. I would not choose them again. Update: 2 years later things have only gotten worse. They have reduced staff to bare minimum. Yet another director has come and gone. I believe that position is untenable as they are being asked to do things that they know are wrong and do not serve their tenants. This is only my guess, educated by what I have seen. I have called Brookdale corporate as well as Washington State to try to get living conditions up to acceptable to no avail. Please be careful.

Former employee here and would not recommend being employed here or enrolling your family member here. Wish I could provide more details, but just know they are putting residents at risk, violating OSHA/HR/L&I policies, and are not compliant with state regulations. Management is concerned more about generating revenue than working on providing quality care for the residents. They wanna hit their numbers and look good to corporate so your family member is nothing more than a dollar sign. This place is way overpriced for the condition it’s in and the care they are providing, stained carpets, urine smells, offering cereal for dinner. Not to mention CNAs dropping patients, residents falling out of bed and not receiving assistance for 3 hours, and uncertified staff on the floor and passing meds with no qualifications.

I went to Brookdale Allenmore (23rd Street). The people that I met with were great. The facility is fantastic. It is a little more expensive. The other place was $1,000 cheaper. I am looking specifically for studios. The reason why I am looking at only those that I have chosen is because, at this point, they do spend down Medicaid. It's either two years or thirty six months. I've seen groups get together to play games. They were playing a trivia game all out in the lobby. They all seemed to be having fun. They have libraries, beauty salons, game rooms, and TV rooms. The patios out there are all nice. And the residents do the tending of many of the flowers, and have contests, and things like that.

My mother in law moved in here early this year. She is NOT an easy woman to please but I think she would have been happy here with time. Unfortunately, every time she signed up for an activity, it would be canceled for lack of staff. Her cable TV and internet were not working. When we tried to help, we were told it was a problem with the facility. Brookdale provided no help so she felt very cut off with no communication to the outside world. According to her, [name removed] was just too busy dealing with multiple facilities to help a new move-in. She had other complaints. The food really was awful, based on when we dined with her, but the lack of follow through was the main reason she left.

My loved one was a resident at Brookdale Allenmore Assisted Living. It was not a good experience. Specifically, the care was slow...there was no follow through. My Mom was very happy at her previous facility, but we were told that the only way Medicaid would eventually pay was to move her to a place where she could live for at least 2 years and her previous facility did not honor Medicaid. So, we moved her. I'm convinced that she would still be alive had she stayed at her previous facility. I could go on. My brother and I are sorry we had to move her. My mom preferred the previous facility that she was in. I visited my mom several times a week, so I easily saw the day to day goings on.
