My father has moved into Brightwater Senior Living of Highland. The staff is very compassionate. It is a beautiful place. It is a really lovely environment. It's a very positive place for my dad, so far. The food is fresh. It is a varied menu, and it is good. There is housekeeping once a week. They have a lot of activities. It's a very dynamic community with everything from scenic drives to bingo. I see groups of people always doing hair and nails. They have a theater that they can watch movies in. You have to consider that assisted living is difficult, so it's not going to be like a hotel. I hope other people will check them out. It's probably the best in this area. It has beautiful views. It's pretty much on par with the other really good facilities. It's not a cheap place. Communication is very good. They are very responsive. My father is very happy there.

My parents were residents of Brightwater Senior Living of Highland. The staff comes in and they're supposed to give them a bath, and we pay extra for things. But if they didn't want to the staff won't pursue it and will just say okay. We had a discussion, and they're supposed to call me if my parents are refusing or if one of them would sign a paper that says they refuse, and the staff only called me once and didn't do that anymore. They only have 1 elevator in the whole place, and the elevator broke twice while they were there for a week at a time. My parents were on the bottom floor, so they would have to go up the stairs or go outside around to where they could eat their meals. They had lots of wonderful activities and entertainment, they have a bus that took them shopping, to events and everything. The crafts were great at this community, but my parents don't like to do that. The layout was so inconvenient and it was so much larger than my parents' current community which had 2 elevators. They have a beauty salon, library, exercises and they also have exercise therapy every morning or 3 times a week. Once a week every friday in the assisted living, they have the walking club that walks outside the building. It was all great. The kids from the community would come in at Christmas and at Halloween, they invite them in so it's nice. When I wanted to put my mother in memory care, my dad would have to stay in the assisted living part, they said that my parents would have to be in separate rooms and we didn't want them separated. I would rate the supervisory or managerial people a 3, but the staff who really took care of my parents I would rate a 4. On the weekends, none of the managerial people are there. Also on the weekends, there was not that much staff there so the workers that were there had to cover everything.
