I feel my loved one is very safe there. People know his name and greet him. They're very caring with him. They're trying to make things so that he's happy. I like that the fee is the same for everybody, so as his memory gets worse, the cost won't keep increasing. The inside of the facility is really nice - and much improved with the new administrators, although the outdoor areas and landscaping could use some work. (I understand that when times are tough, that's probably the last thing on people's minds). The only thing negative I have to say is that it bothers my loved one seeing people in the dining room who have to be fed. It makes him feel more like he's in a nursing home rather than assisted living. He's not a fan of the food either, although part of that is on him since he won't ask for substitutions that are available.
Read moreI toured Brighton Manor Assisted Living and Memory care, it was lovely. If we couldn't get my mom in [community name removed], then she would have been here. We chose another community because Brighton Manor was too far and a bit too big.
Not a bit happy at all, poor choice

We saw the assisted living side of Brighton Manor Assisted Living and Memory Care. The facility is beautiful and huge but it was too commercialized. There was no family setting whatsoever there. I was walking down hallways and never saw a single staff person. I never saw anybody on the floor. I never even saw any residents on the floor. It was like long hallways that were just dreadful. The rooms were beautiful though, and I loved the rooms. It was almost like living in an apartment building where no one ever opens their doors. It was too confining so I didn't like the setting at all. It was a beautiful facility and it was clean. Everything was 100% but it had that feeling that you just take somebody there, drop them off, and that's the end of it. That's not what I wanted at all. I don't want to give them a bad review because it was gorgeous, but it didn't have that family feeling and setting. It didn't have that caring feeling because there was no staff. I don't know where everybody was. The staff who assisted wasn't extremely friendly either. It was like her mind was someplace else other than me on the tour.
