The Brighton Gardens community weren't prepared when we moved in. Room was dirty and no one was prepared even though I called the previous day and spoke with the executive director about it the afternoon of the previous day.

My friend chose Brighton Gardens of Buckhead because of the space mostly, in the hallway, in the dining room, in the entrance. The others were too claustrophobic. They're spread apart nicely. It's just a better community. The sales guy is just the most wonderful man in the world. We got my friend the one-bedroom with the den. We could move all her furniture. It has a big bathroom, which is nice if you're in a wheelchair. It's comfortable. There's a huge walk-in closet and a linen closet. It's perfect. I have no complaints whatsoever about it. The staff is more than fabulous. You go one time and they remember you. Every single time that you're back, they remember your name, they remember who you are. They're just wonderful and most of them have been in there for over 20 years. The staff is the cream of the crop. My friend is bedridden, so her three meals will be served in her room. It comes in China, silverware, and a tray, so I'm excited about that. She gets a choice of what to eat. It's beautiful, and the people are so nice. It's just great.
Read moreI loved Brighton Gardens of Buckhead. I loved the staff that I met during the tour. I liked their memory care, but it was just smaller compared to the facility that we chose. They had a salon, an art room, and a craft room. The rooms were fine, but they just were a little bit dark.

My brother-in-law has moved into Brighton Gardens of Buckhead. My overall experience was good. What I loved about it is that they did do a personal assessment on him with their care manager, supervisor, and a nurse. They did an excellent assessment and admitted him. We had a very difficult time admitting him because he had a bad bedsore, but they had been able to transition him. One facility didn't want to take him. They worked with my brother-in-law and they're still working with him. They were really good and they offered some good discounts for us. They have a promotion going on. They had a bingo game going on while I was there. They have certain support groups. This week while we were there, they had groups going to the Cheesecake Factory. They have a transport team that takes them to doctor visits. We've had three meals since we've been there, and they have been excellent. I haven't seen any problem with cleanliness.

I thought Brighton Gardens of Buckhead was a nice place. My ex-husband likes Keith, the salesperson. He wants to pick the place because of him. The rooms he offered were very nice. They offer meals, there's a nurse on the grounds, and it's a 24-hour place. The community was friendly. We passed through their amenities. Keith told us about them, that they existed there. They had card games and movies on the television and things of that sort. The people were friendly and seemed happy. Nothing struck me as being wrong with the place. They're very big on safety. Keith said they had a big generator, which I don't remember hearing from any of the other places. My ex-husband likes this community best so far. The food is not exceptional, but fine. Nothing outstanding.

The atmosphere of this facility is actually quite nice. The chemistry between the staff and my loved one is a really good fit. She's a very outgoing person in general and is still able to continue being that way here. Meals and dining were a major factor in our facility decision, and the food is excellent here. Great quality and variety. Communication with the family is pretty good. It's not always timely and can be challenging at times, but overall it's pretty good and their heart is in the right place. The maintenance staff is pretty good, nursing staff is good, administrative staff is really good. The activities director is phenomenal. She does a good job with activities and outings. I will say, medication management is very pricey if you use their pharmacy service. But you do have the option to use your own, so we like that. The total monthly cost at the end of each month can be tricky here. They go by daily rate, so monthly totals/cost can change and vary each month. But the value is pretty good. The one piece of advice that I would give to anyone about this whole process is that you have to establish a relationship with the staff at your loved one's facility, I think that's the biggest key to success. Overall, this facility is a good fit for my loved one and I'm happy that she's where she is. I would absolutely recommend them to family and friends.
