Update: I came to visit my dad today and I feel like they improved a lot with keeping his room clean. I came there with my grandmother to his room and we walked in on him getting helped from his nurse. His room was a hot mess. Diapers all over the floor, forks and spoons. Stuff all over his bed. I use to work as a CNA so I know how hard it can be. My dad has fallen twice and it was never charted.

Thank you for the communication and for all the hard work from the team here! My mother-in-law spent 4+ weeks here recently after a hospitalization. I have nothing but compliments for the work of both the Therapy and nursing teams. Mom required complex wound care after a surgical problem. It was more than we could manage at home. Bless you all for helping us get Mom back home and safe!

I have worked at Signature Healthcare for more than 15 years and just recently came back to Signature Healthcare of Rockwood. We have a great team and a great facility, are we perfect? Absolutely not. But we strive to meet the needs of all of our residents and customers. I love my job, I love the residents that reside at Rockwood and I love my coworkers and team. Healthcare continues to grow more difficult it seems as the years pass, but as a nurse and as a human being, I will always give my all to make our facility a home for those that choose to live there and a great rehab facility in our community for those who just need us for a short time. Thanks to all of our residents and families and who entrust us in your care and the care of your loved ones. Thank you to Signature Healthcare for providing the opportunity for such a personally rewarding opportunity.

My mother, at 93, got COVID19 while in this facility. The first two days she was eating and doing well. My daughter works in ICU with COVID patients in a large Chattanooga hospital. She urged me to ask for Decadron and an antiviral. She said that is the minimum to do to keep an elderly person from getting worse. I begged the doctor through the nurse to please give Mama these minimum medications. He would not. She got very weak and developed pneumonia. Dr Wickum did give her an antimicrobial for the pneumonia, but by then it was too late for Mama to have the preventive meds. Mama progressed to a horribly weak and incoherent position from her former friendly, lively and loving self. When sent to the hospital, we later found out she had a stroke. Her electrolytes were also out of balance. I had asked her electrolytes be checked when she became incoherent in the Signature facility, but the doctor refused. Thank God the hospital checked immediately, but it was too late by then for it to make a difference. She was sent back to Signature to die which she did. Some of the nurses and aides are very good, but that won''t help if the doctor is not taking the best path for the patient. I would advise to others they do not place their loved ones in this facility. We did have trouble with quick responses to Mama''s requests for pain meds and to use the bathroom. There were times she waited an hour or longer for pain medicine when she had three broken bones in her leg. It was painful for Mama to have to hold her bladder or urinate in a diaper and bear that discomfort. I recommend you do not send your loved ones here.
