You have to make an appointment to go outside to sit with your loved one. Anyways, today I took my 3 nephews, and my 2 sons to go see their gma the lady was super nice, opened her window and as we walked up a man CLOSED THE WINDOW and said we didnt have permission to see.her!! They are a nursing facility I u understand but when did they start allowing these elderly people to.have and not have visitors?????

My grandfather was a patient here for physical therapy after hip surgery. He broke his hip and had a pin put in the femur. In the short amount of time he was there, the incision became infected - kind of the facility''s job to tend to that?? He was put on antibiotics - thankfully not ones he is allergic to. His skin was left so dry that when he bumped it on something, it tore and bled. To remedy this, his arms were put in cushioned sleeves (I don''t know the name of them off-hand).W those sleeves came off, they were filled with pus, which contributed a great deal to the odor. He smelled so bad and he nor his roommate could tell you when the last time he was bathed was. I get that this place is massively understaffed, but that is NO EXCUSE to not care for your patients. If you don''t have the resources to care for the patients you have, STOP ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS!!! The discharge nurses (I guess would be their title?) tried to have paperwork signed that checked him out against medical advice, despite the fact that it was not against medical advice - his doctor knew and recommended moving him. Turns out, if you sign that paper, Medicare won''t cover the patient''s time there, and the family is required to pay the full price (so don''t sign that paperwork if your doctor knows what''s going on). We will never be back with Blue Ridge. I will shout it from the rooftops. I will tell everyone I know. Never, ever, ever with Blue Ridge.
