My dad felt an incredible sense of belonging at The Maples of Stoneleigh, his home until he passed. He loved his apartment and the staff that cared for him. The staff played many group games and is comprised of caring, knowledgeable people that just made everyone feel special on an individual and group basis. The chef must be included in this review for his amazing daily culinary delights. The facility is especially clean and the grounds are impeccable and comfortable for being outside. Five stars is not enough for The Maples of Stoneleigh.

My mom was a resident at the Maples for the last 2 years of her life. The staff were so attentive and kind. The environment is clean and homey - no institutional feel. As many adult children with parents who are living with Alzheimer’s or dementia probably know, it’s not easy to trust others to care for their mom or dad. It brought great comfort to know my mom was so well cared for. Communication with staff about her needs and changes in condition were timely; and staff were easy to reach. Towards the end of my mom’s life, Gilchrist provided hospice care; and they too were terrific in caring for mom, working with Maples staff, and supporting me and my sister. Not all assisted living facilities are good with adults living with Alzheimer’s/dementia. The Maples provides excellent care - their team knows how to communicate, redirect, and give residents safe distance when needed. I am thankful to have found the Maples when my mom needed them.

Caring Compassionate Clean These are some of the words to describe the Maples of Stoneleigh! Unfortunately when it was previously known as Blair House the reputation was negative. Once the new owners took over, the change was so impressive and swift …. Finally employees who genuinely cared about the residents. As a big plus the food is excellent! I Would certainly recommend the Maples of Stoneleigh.

Ditto to the more recent reviews. My mom had the misfortune of being at "Blair House" and then also another poorly run facility. Since learning about the Maples at Stoneleigh being under new management and being staffed fully with care providers who truly care and are managed by a knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate and communicative director, I have moved my mom back. I am so very glad I did. It''s a relief to trust the care she''s receiving. The facility was always a lovely physical space, but it''s now living up to what it markets itself to be: a safe and skilled home for those living with dementia and Alzheimer''s.

To anyone who reads these reviews, I want you know that I am solely responsible for filling the building when it was Blair House. I was the Marketing Director of the community, and oh how I loved it when I first started. But it was very, very poorly managed. The families who wrote these negative reviews are right on point! And I, too, made the decision to leave the Blair House because I could not in good conscience sell a building that I did not believe in. But when I learned that Sagelife bought the community, my heart skipped a beat. I immediately reached out to them because of their reputation. They get it!! We are not Blair House. And these reviews do not portray an accurate picture of our community now. I am proud to say we are the Maples of Stoneleigh, and I am so happy to be home again. And guess what?! My residents who had left under the Blair House regime, have come back to me. But if you know anything about Google, you will know that it takes an Act of Congress to get anything removed. Why these negative reviews are still attached to us makes me really question the ethics of Google. Yup! I said that Google! Shame on you! And I would welcome anyone who has concerns to come visit. I have many families who would be more than willing to talk to you. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I love our community. And I love our residents. Actions speak louder than words. Come see for yourself. Thank you. Jennie B. Slack. Proud employee of The Maples.

Based on my family''s experience, I would not advise anyone to place their loved one at the Blair House (BH) at Stoneleigh Assisted Living Facility. We recently moved our mother out of BH for numerous reasons, such as mistreatment, neglect, no or infrequent activities, poor food quality and frequent menu substitutions with inferior foods, poor quality of care on weekends due to limited staff, infrequency of room cleaning and linen changes, missed medications and when COVID hit, periodic non compliance of mask protocols. We grew tired and frustrated listening to the facility''s management and Peregrine corporate staff apologize for various incidents and asking us to "be patient," so in October 2020, we reported the issues we had observed to the State of Maryland, Office of Heath Care Quality (OHCQ). Due to the severity of our allegations, the OHCQ immediately conducted an investigation and subsequently cited the BH facility for 14 violations. We moved our mother shortly thereafter. The facility allowed us to place a camera in my mother''s room and it was that camera that allowed us to witness many of these disturbing incidents. I highly recommend placing a camera in the room of a loved one that is being admitted into an assisted living facility.
