Bickford of Cedar Falls was outstanding. It was very homey. It was very nice and very friendly. It was clean. People were nice and polite. They had no problem showing us what was available and talking to other clients that were in the rooms to see if we could look at their rooms. It's a very small community. It was only like 22 beds, and so we saw a medium room that was open. We got to meet some of the people there by doing that, and it was a great experience. They had like a kitchenette with a studio. It was just a microwave and a small refrigerator. The studio had a single bed, and the one bedroom had a double bed or a full-size bed. The kitchen was set up the same. It had a small refrigerator. You have to supply your microwave, but it's still a very small kitchenette. So, it was good. It's what my mom needed. Everything is inclusive. They have common areas where they get together and do exercise. They also paint. They let people know when they're going to be starting so that they can do it also. If they don't remember the time or they haven't looked at a calendar, they are made aware that that is going to start, so they can just go ahead and come on in. They do family-style dining so that they can all be with each other, and they can sit down and talk and that was outstanding. The only thing that's a drawback, it was a very small dorm refrigerator. That's the only thing that we didn't care about. We would get a different dorm refrigerator so that she could have her Frigidaire and her freezer separated.
Read moreWe chose Bickford of Cedar Falls because it was close by our home and we had taken dad here for respite care in the prior years when we were gone so he was comfortable with it. It is a very nice facility and I would recommend them to anyone looking.
Our loved one always said that they had good meals and even though he did not take advantage of the activities they did have plenty to offer. He really liked it there and the value for cost is good.

Bickford of Cedar Falls was very welcoming and very homey. When I came in, they were doing an activity with the residents in the living area. They're very kind. It was really expensive though. They offered it to where if mom's health declined, she'd be able to stay in the same facility. There would be no transfers or anything like that, and the level of care would just exceed obviously. They had a locked down facility if you needed it, and it's heavily secure. It was quite homey, just a little expensive. They had in-house physical therapy, they were doing an arts and crafts thing in the living room, they had movie nights, and there was just a lot of interaction among the residents. The hallway was very long. Mom's room, and she's got scoliosis really bad, would have been a long haul for her to the main dining area.

When we came to visit, they were prepared and answered all our questions. It was tough not to take my mom there; it was a very nice place. The facility was beautiful, well decorated, and very clean. She gave us a tour of the entire place. She showed us all the apartments, and they were all very nice. We saw the menu but we didn't try the food. They had lot of good choices. It was well-balanced.
