As I read the negative comments all I can think is that things must have changed SIGNIFICANTLY since my stay there in 2015 when Interlude was new. The rooms weren''t asmuch like a "hotel suite" as promoted but still ok. But the chefs, especially the main chef was fantastic!! He was truly exceptional and even remembered each patient''s preferences! The wait staff who brought the food to your room were always smiling, fully decked with cumberbuns and bowties, it even made a lower day uplifting! With regard to PT/OT--they sure don''t miss a beat!! Wow, 2x a day, 7 days a week--you have therapy!! I was bummed that I wasn''t able to have aquatic therapy, as I was SO excited to be in a facility that offered it!! But then I found out that with front and back stem-to-stern stitches I was a bit overly optimistic about being able to do aquatic therapy...maybe someday! I loved my PTA more than the DPT who was working with me, so I requested her. She had such a natural way about her, excellent! The DPT had a bit of an edge to her and we just didn''t hit it off at all! I found out--basically don''t ask any questions, she doesn''t want to talk or explain things, and I tend to want to know which muscle are being used, exactly how these movements will start to heal...I love learning and find that I follow routines to the "t" when I know exactly what''s involved, the why, how, and the results. Most all my OT''s were good, one wasn''t able to answer my questions, which left me frustrated-but again, I want to know the how, what, why-not just "do it". Still, you work!! lol I had a terrible experience at Abbott (×2!), so when I got to Interlude it took them several days to get me fully back and straightened out after clearing the morphine out of my body!! When I woke up I had a wonderful nurse who had been working with me the past 36 hrs and said I had been in quite the state as Abbott had given me morphine--again. I remember the pain management provider asking me why they hadn''t put me on my standard pain med--good question!! I tried telling them and my notes and medical records from my previous surgery and my PCP clearly stated I was allergic to morphine!! After a full week of being passed out, unconscious (not and exaggeration from what I''ve been told)--but in full pain, the pain management team at Interlude were able to get that straightened out. It was absolutely WONDERFUL to be alert, awake, and to be not only without nerve pain from a successful surgery but also to have my bone pain managed with the correct medication! Thank God for the care at Interlude and the RN''s who monitored me those 36hrs!! And while I had my 1 favorite RN, I really liked most of the LPN''s and could tell they really wanted to be there helping people. Of course I had 1 favorite LPN who came in on evenings/nights and got to know me so well that when I woke up in pain during the night, she came in with a pile of toasty warm blankets, rolled them up and tucked them all around my back...I instantly fell back asleep! It''s also the first time I realized I had arthritis! 🤔 I loved seeing her walk in the room 😊 with her smile, "hello", and warm blankets, it was great! Three negatives: No spiritual support, I have a very strong faith and met a nice, but more new-age "Spiritual" support. I could have just asked for a pastor on my own initiative. Activities...?? I strongly advocate for adult activities and find it degrading when activities consist of adults doing children''s crafts using foam pieces and construction paper to paste together kindergarten projects. There must be something more age appropriate and interesting! Finally, no transition care meeting. I found you do need to request a meeting and have questions ready. The fireplace is wonderful! But it somehow looks much more "sterile" or maybe a "hospital modern"(?) not the crozier furniture I recall. The placement of the furniture in these pictures look very cold, perfectly lined up, compared to the gather-around-the-fireplace, homey feeling that provided a relaxing environment to heal faster.

Like it or not, on day 2 after I arrived, I was put into a vigorous routine with occupational and physical therapy, besides being seen by a dietitian and in-house physician assistant. In short, I entered there helpless and not able to walk after a 5 hours lumbar fusion surgery, but recovered very well and fast after a 24 nights stay to be able to walk up and down a flight of 15 steps (staircase) with only a cane. I attributed my successful healing journey to their caring and effective staff----doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, kitchen staff and their strong occupational and physical therapy program. The kitchen menu was definitely abundant and varied, and the ice-packs I was given almost 24 hours daily helped bring down the inflammation. I am sure the beef as well as chicken broth, and ensure drinks hastened my recovery---thus 5 weeks after my surgery date, I was already walking 3000steps a day, and gradually progressing to 4500 steps (without walker or cane). Couldn''t have chosen a better and well-run transitional rehab center for my fragile surgery and I thank them for partnering with me for my success!

My family member has been there 3 months now. Admitted just before Ohio''s Shelter in Place orders were set due to COVID-19. They have provided quality care through it all. The staff has been so nice and very responsive to any and all inquires I''ve made. They have also provided a means of being able to video chat with my loved one every week. I can see she is being taken care. I am very thankful to be able to see her. I have dropped off personal items for her, with no issues. Thank you to the entire staff.
