We got both of my parents into Avery Village. My dad's in the assisted living and my mom's in memory care. They can have lunch together, visit each other, and see each other. It's a relatively small place, but it's top-notch and I love it. We like the quality of care and the place itself looks happy and clean. They care about their residents and it just exudes care. Also, it smells good. They have chefs that cook their meals and the food is awesome. It is just wonderful. It's not a huge community, but they have activities going on every day, something to keep them busy. Some of the ones that want to sleep all day, they try to keep them up. They have church services, people come and play music, they do painting and karaoke. I met Stephen, the liaison type person. The executive director is phenomenal. She's got 30 years in nursing and all the people there have been there for over a year, some being ten years. It was bought out in March so it's under new management. Mom's all-inclusive (my dad, too). They do their laundry and if you need something special, like a bar of soap and things, we provide it. Like my mom's allergic to stuff, so they clean their rooms for them. They make sure that they get showers twice a week, which is unusual because most places are once a week. They offer haircuts (you had to pay for them) and then the women get manicures one day a week. The activities are phenomenal. They also will take them to doctor's appointments or take them shopping and things like that. It is reasonably priced. They are lower priced than the other ones and they offer more services and more care for their money.
Read moreWhat we like the most about the Avery Village community is the smallness of the community. The staff members are wonderful and it is easy to help when needed. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Avery Village to other families

She ended up living here for a year and some change before I was able to get her out. She became so depressed and crying every time I would leave. This place sucked the life outta her. She literally became bedridden while she was here. Each time I visited I never saw the same caretaker. I wouldn't leave my dog here! There is a Happy ending... I moved my friend out in [date removed]and she has her joy back she's smiling now and she is well taken care of. What a difference I she in her! I wouldn't recommend this place for no one you care for!

We decided on Avery Place because they were closest to home. We walked through the facility and we liked what we saw and they seemed to be very on top of things. It is a small facility and I think they do really well. The food that they fix looks great but my mother does not eat much. They are supposed to have house cleaning and we had to remind them to clean the toilets and the floor has still yet to vacuumed. They have pretty much done everything that they said they were going to do but could improve on the cleaning.
